READ BEFORE YOU SCROLL: If your favourite game does not make it on a list or your favourite isn't in number 1, don't be a jerk and suck it up.

(I've decided to name the countdown NDS-10)
Hey, sa1amandra here! I was inspired by diffrent people on GBAtemp who have contributed to the site. I decided to take the time and do something also. This is the top 10 countdown for NDS games. Once in a while(when i'm in the mood or just once a month or so) I'll make a top 10 list for a specific genre. If you have any specific request, please post or PM me(which i prefer).
For my first countdown, i'm going to do mostly everyone's favourite gaming genre, Role playing games. Without further ado, lets start!
Number 10: Megaman Starforce 2 Zerker x Ninja and Zerker x Saurain
Who doesn't know megaman? Well basicly nobody. The blue bomber has been shooting it's way to the top every since the 1900s. Always trying to get past they two annoying challanges, Sonic and Mario, Megaman has tried numerous attempts to shoot to the top. One of the attempts was RPG, and it does it in a ok way. It's not one of the best, but not one of the worsts. The game could have been wayyy better, 3D graphics look horrible and 2D graphics need a major overhaul. The story is may keep you on the game if your lucky. But the real reason why people get this game is for the WiFi. Megaman shot his butt onto the real net last year with Starforce 1 with the brother band system. They expanded it to WiFi battling in this installment. But it suffers from a major lag factor. Unless both players have a good internet connection, you will not have a smooth battle. If you can look past the crap graphics and the lag online, this game is worth a go!
Number 9: Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
When there is a good Final Fantasy Game, Crappy Spin-offs related and un-related to the main FF plot are not very far away. The Final Fantasy Franchise is known for a great RPG experiance, but it doesn't really cut the chase for the Tatics Advance series. Tatics Advance is known for the punishing laws that the judges give such as the Back Attack Restriction, if you want to do big damage, you hit the back, but THEY WONT LET YOU, it's very fusurating. They are completely useless, the game could have gone with it. The story this time around once is generally the same from the original Tatics Advance, but worse. If you are able to surpass theses flaws, the game offers quite a gameplay experiance. It lacks the ability to turn the stage to get a clearer view and multiplayer. If having 1 story characters on both sides of the battlefield, couldn't they have just changed the client's character color scheme? Theres not alot of reward for story or multiplayer, but if a singleplayer Tatical RPG which offers a reasonable amount of flexablility, FFTA2 is just for you!
Number 8: Pokemon Diamond and Pearl
Another year, another batch of pokemon for us to catch. Another well upgrade in graphics has taken place. The overworld is now in 3D models and the Pokemon and Trainers have even MORE detail put into it. There is not alot to say about pokemon, it's always generally the same. Your a young teen who just got their first pokemon and is setting out to be the pokemon champion, typical pokemon storyline. Beat up 8 gym leaders, 4 Elite Four Members and 1 Champion, and the story is finished. Not alot of replay value is in this pokemon game. It lacks a Battle Frontier like attraction in Pokemon Emerald, but thats going to be fixed in it's upgraded version this year. The Pokemon series once again stays generally the same, hardcore pokemon fans won't be disapointed.
Number 7: Etrian Odyssey: The Series
Etrian Odyssey is the game which brings back old faishon first person Dungeoners and throws in Turn based RPG into the mix. Both games were said to be great, thats why it made it on the list! This game offers a WIDE skill building section, so fans dying to create, name, and build a character, Etrian Odyssey offers it pretty well. The thing that turned alot of players down was the back-tracking. Back-tracking is doing the same things over and over again to get to the new things, and you have to do that alot if you plan on getting to the bottom of the dungeon. The "create your own map" system was a fun but required little feature. I think i had more fun making the maps than fighting monsters! This game requires ALOT of paitents, get past all the back-tracking, and there is something waiting to award you!
Number 6: Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
When you think Harvest Moon, you think of a virtual farm life which is pretty damn addicting. Your probably wondering why a virtual farm life game made it into the Top 10 RPGs. Rune Factory is the evolution of the series. Not only do you grow crops mine and fish, you fight monsters which appear in caves, level up, and do more farmining. The battle system is a bit weird, because most of your tools are your weapons, so it's like farm work on a living thing trying to kill you. Aside from the new monsters' thing, everything is still the typical Harvest Moon you all know and love.
Number 5: Summon Night: Twin Age
Summon Night's Spinoff, YES! Fun, YES! Addicting, YES! Gives a average Summon Nights Experiance, NO! Summon Nights Twin Age is another spin off specifcly for the DS. It has taken a real time stratagy like system for this game, but you can only control 2 characters, all the others will move on their own according to the tatics u assigned them prior to the mission. This game is good, but some things could have been diffrent. Making this a RTS would have made the game great! RTS in a big dungeon, who wouldn't have liked that? Even though this game was not a RTS, it still made it well for being an RPG. It's a good destraction to get you pumpped for Summon Nights 2 in english comming in 2009.
Number 4: Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
While i am in the RTS mood, lets look at one of the best RTS in the gaming world and the best in the NDS section! The "When there is a good final fantasy game, theres a crappy spinnoff around the corner" rule dosn't apply for this game, because it was good, it was fun, it's a great game. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is the sequel to FFXII. The gambit system introduced in that game was used in this one as the set skill to use, basically telling what your troops to do on their own when they run into trouble and your not their to order them. This is the first Final Fantasy Spin-off directly related to one game in the FF Franchise that is good, is unique and is not flawed. It will goble up your time like how the hungry hippos goble the food they are given.
Number 3: Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Searching for a game which offers monster breeding and catching like pokemon, great RPG fun like final fantasy, great graphics like what Mario games gives and offers a pretty damn good story? Then look no further than Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. Like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest has it's fair share of spin-offs, and one of the bests ones were Dragon Quest Mosters. DQM: Joker just adds to the fact. You'll be "scouting"(aka catching) monsters, breeding and grinding to prepare your troop for battle. This game will keep you playing until you scouted every single monster!
Number 2: Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy IV, which was also known as FFII for american gamers back in the day, which was so great, it was remade twice!
The first remake was basically a port, not alot of new things and graphics looked generally the same (even though lots of people prefered that) The Latest DS remake gives it a fresh script, 3D graphics and even vocal cords, never put "port" and "final fantasy IV" together. The story is generally the same. But this upgrade has caused 2 characters to change. Nammingway which has surprising become a rabit can no longer change your name because of voice acting. Fat Chocobo's are no longer your bank. They are now a station for watch scene's training your custom summon Whyt, bestiary and more. It takes about 30hours of gameplay for the first playthrough, and with the "New Game+" addition addes to the play time, making 30x2 (you can play the game 3 times). Another new addition is "auto-battle" if your beating up monsters which don't even require skills or tatics to beat, that lets the computer do it for you. The game has added 3D Cutscenes for important parts of the story and dramatic camera angels when it's needed. The 17-year-old RPG of love, hate, betrayal and death is reborn with the same awsome gameplay it did in 1991.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before we got to number 1, i'll recap all other 9 on the list
10: Megaman Starforce 2
09: Final Fantasy Tatics Advance 2
08: Pokemon Diamond and Pearl
07: Etrian Odyssey The Series
06: Rune Factory
05: Summon Nights: Twin Age
04: Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
03: DQM: Joker
02: Final Fantasy IV
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number 1: The World Ends With You
The world ends with you, the first game in it's series, gives gamers the best experiance they have ever had. Made by the creators of Kingdom Hearts, TWEWY pushes the DS to every edge of it's limits. The very first game in the world with two fights going on in both screens simutainuously. You control the main character Neku and his powers, the pins with the stylus and use the D-pad to control the top screen. Not only does it offers the most unique battle system in the world, it also gives a very, very intruging storyline. it's not a childish story for one. Swear, guns, death, all in the mix. You will be playing through each chapter trying to figure out what happens next. Some people think the battle system was hard and flawed, but once you get use to it, you'll be battling just the fun of it. The best game in the RPGs and the Best game in the whole NDS list, lets just hope for a even better sequel.
