(BTW, if you think this is fake, my brother works at NOE!)

Wii System Menu 4.1! Coming Soon to a Wii near you!!

It will be out in about a month and a few days.

It will be released in Europe first for some reason!!!!

    Technical Details:

Includes updates to:[*]IOS254 (Still to block patchmii!)[*]IOS36[*]IOS60[*]IOS249[*]IOS16
and[*]The 'Pinkfish' Disk blocker has been removed!
All of these updates will probably get a work-around!!

Most of them were applied in the 4.0 update though those updates are just improvements to the 4.0 ones!
The features not related to the IOS's are unknown at the moment!

Doesn't sound like much exciting news... I wouldn't be surprised if they do block 249 finally lol.

What does "The 'Pinkfish' Disk blocker has been removed!" mean?

Without much evidence we can only wait to see if you are correct.

System Menu 4.0 blocks the maintenance disc by Nintendo, otherwise named the 'pinkfish' disc (it's has pink fish on the disc XD).

Will it be possible if Nintendo were to launch a "Multi-Media Channel" to substitute the current PhotoChannel so that we can play music (not only .acc, but also .mp3), videos and photos through USB and SD Card?

No offence Nerdii, but I usually don't believe anyone who claims their relatives/friends work at Nintendo. [IMG]

I hope you can prove me wrong.

But I thought Nintendo claimed that they want people to switch their Wiis on as though they are part of the TV stations?

If they created this supposedly "Multi-Media Channel", won't people switch their Wiis on more often?

I dunno, but it is just my idea.

Probably not true, but if it is, then cIOS36B is not blocked...
BTW, seriously, with cIOS and Bootmii released, Nintendo is basically hopeless. Only way you could patch the piracy is to release all IOSes from 1 to (max number of ios - 255?) ...otherwise you can just change the IOS number to whathever the hell you want and Nintendo won't patch you.

I know that, it's just the wording wasn't very good so I was unsure what he was exactly trying to say...

Technically, what stops the PFD from working is that they replaced IOS16 with a stub so that it won't be usable by people who need a trucha bugged ios. It also means that PFD won't work with it's intended IOS, however clearly they made that decision because PFD is obselete to them now.

When he said "blocker" it just didn't make sense to me... theres no "blocker" of PFD, like something that reads the titleID and rejects it, it just doesnt work with the new ios16.

And I thought, why would they block it and then unblock it 0_0.. doesn't make sense.

(Just clarifying, sorry if i sound pendantic, i just already new that info lol)

They are unblocking it for easy access to the disk when the Wii needs to be repaired!!

    Normally they would have to:
    1. Downgrade from 4.0 to 3.2 using their method.
    2. Run the disk.
    3. Backup Wii
    4. Repair Wii
    5. Use disk again to replace the backed-up files
    and
    6. Update Wii to 4.0 again!

This new update will make repairing the Wii easier!

Do you understand what "news" is? Do you know the difference between news and a rumor? Do you know what a "reputable source" is?

Not to discount you here as a lot of rumors are true and do come from a reasonable source. But basically I could just as easily say my brother works at NOA and says the opposite.
