Again, this is just a rumor and in no way confirmed until Sony says something. But I can say that if this price is true, the 3DS will have some major competition.

If that's true, than that's in my price range, the highest I'll pay for a 3G model is $399USD

    Unfortunately, it's just a rumor.

Glad I'm not getting the 3G version! To much money.

I'm getting it for the resale value
look at the backward compatible PS3 and compare it to the 40/80 GB PS3.

Will you have to pay for a 3G plan alongside it?

If it's really $250 on launch, then I literally won't ever pick up a 3DS. I'd just probably have to change my pants in Sony came out saying that it was $250.

But odds are this is a false rumor, sadly.

Even if it's true, I'll probably wait a few years for the price drop and for it to build a good library of games, you definitely not the year or the year after it's released.

With all the misery coming out of Japan I don't think NGP price speculation is newsworthy. We dont know yet how the disaster is going to effect the price, release date, etc.

I also think NGP is going to be seriously delayed. Although its assembled in China, much of its components are made in Japan. And Sony just closed six plants. The disasterous effect on the Japanese economy, combined with Sony's own personal woes could mean this thing will never see the light of day.

Pray and hope for the best.

Exactly what I'm wondering as well.

    I wouldn't mind paying $100 extra if it doesn't need a plan.

I have a device with 3G and I've never used it. I don't see the point in paying $100 for something with very little value.

My HTC desire can just use WiFi hot spot to share its 3G with the NGP so no 3G version for me [IMG]

I wish this would be true. It looks really cool, but I don't want to spend more than $400 dollars on one unless some amazing launch games are announced.

I'm pretty sure Sony has already said that the NGP will not have "some crazy" price range.

$350 sounds somewhat accurate; I'd put money on $399 at max.
Not too sure about the non-3G price model though.. I wouldn't think there would be a $100 difference.

maybe the $100 accounts for the 3g service (only of course if it's free to access)

i don't really think that 3g will be fast enough/have a fast enough latency to do any gaming, it will probably be reserved for web serfing/socializing, i see the next sony portable having 4g LTE actually being able to compete with wifi players

If this thing actuallly does hit the ground at $250 sparks will fly.

$299 is my guess. But there's no internal memory so maybe that will help them keep prices low?

I'm still expecting it to be about $399 in the US and about £299 ($480ish) in the UK. The same for the 3G model with a data contract, or double without.

There's no internal memory? You got a source? I'm actually curious about this, it'd kinda suck if it didn't have any (or little) internal storage.
