I remember there was a buzz like this with the "Dreamcast 2" back in 12.12.2012. SEGA doesn't have the financial backing nor does it have any interest in manufacturing mainstream home consoles under its current management - they're busy making video games and arcade machines, the latter of which aren't making a huge buzz anyways.

Pretty sure Sega can't afford to make a console. They'd actually be bankrupt.

Not to mention the Sega we all knew and loved, they're dead. They're gone. They're never coming back. The Sega we have now is part of Sega Sammy, which is mainly dealt with Slot machines in casino's I think, could be remembering it wrong.

But yeah, Sega... I should say Sega Sammy doesn't have the funds to make a new console, develop games, advertise, package it, ship it and everything.
