[RUMOR] Report claims Super Mario Galaxy along with other Mario games will be remastered this year

Nintendo's mascot is celebrating his 35th anniversary this year, with some possible remasters on the way to mark the occasion, if some rumors are to be believed. News website Video Game Chronicle issued a story claiming that Nintendo would be releasing "several" major games, which would include "most of the Super Mario back catalog, remastered for the Nintendo Switch". VGC's sister site, Eurogamer, also corroborated the story, with their own sources hinting at Super Mario Galaxy being one of the remastered mystery games. Yet another reporting site, Gematsu, made its own separate claims that Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario 3D World would be involved, alongside a brand new Paper Mario reveal. Only time will tell if these rumors turn out to be true, but they certainly would be major announcements, if so.

[UPDATE]

The original story has been updated, with the outlet providing more concrete details from their alleged source. Supposedly, Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy 1 will be released as "a special anniversary collection", instead of just straight ports. That release will be followed up with a Deluxe version of the Wii U's Super Mario 3D World, featuring new content. Finally, a new Paper Mario game is rumored, with the site claiming it'll be a "return to the series' RPG roots".

Thing is, they'd have to re-tool the game to work around the gyros in the new controllers, because I'm pretty sure the gyro controls in the Switch Joy-Cons and Pro Controllers (again, official ones for sure. Anything else, you're gambling) aren't based around pointing within a restrictive IR bar that you have to be sitting or standing perfectly center, with no obstructions, and far enough way from the TV for the controls to work right.
Having a pointer using the gyro wouldn't be a new thing. Splatoon 2 already has one on the map view, for example. And the ball levels were always controlled with a gyro.
the tablet itself doesnt have a gyro only the joycons
This is false, actually. The Switch tablet has its own gyro which you can calibrate by going to Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Calibrate Motion Controls > Calibrate Console.

Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario Galaxy 2 should not be "remastered".

Touching up those games = ruining those games.
Not particularly true - making those timed missions slightly more lenient would be a beneficial change, as would mapping the ray, ball, and bubble to the analog stick. Oh, and increasing Mario's HP to 8, like it should have been all along - that'd also be highly appreciated. And allowing the player to select Stars in almost any order, instead of being forced to do them linearly; it wouldn't quite be up to 64 DS's almost-complete non-linearity, since once the player selected a Galaxy mission they can't veer off and get another Star, but it'd be one step closer.

timed missions in my opinion wasn't super bad. Honestly fairly managable
Though, if they were to cut anything at all. It would be green stars and recompleting galaxy 1 as luigi (just make him unlock midway through galaxy 1's play through, or be the reward for collecting every star (121)
green stars are just pretty uh... meh. While recompleting galaxy 1 to get the final star is busy work.

regarding health, I believe it should stay as is. Since galaxy 1 and 2 do lack difficulty... unless your doing daredevil.

You are too much of a noob.

I am nowhere near a hardcore/serious gamer.

Those parts of Super Mario Galaxy are not too challenging at all. It is as if you want the game to become an interactive movie. And the linearity of the first game is part of the story. It should all be left just as it is.
