In my opinion, in order for Final Fantasy XV to be a success it needs a strong story, get rid of the linearity, needs more interesting characters, a ton more side quests, and needs a higher difficulty that would require me to grind a bit rather than just going with the flow.
Well that's easier said than done.
One of the complaints about FFXIII-2 is being 'too open'.

Square Enix will never win but they'll keep making games anyway and I'll still love them.
I've been a big fan of Square Enix since back when they were two separate companies, but I think many people just love to hate the games because of how successful the company has been over the years. Then again when you're so used to a company making great games people's expectations become too high and then they're disappointed even when the game is great. Being too open is a terrible excuse especially when they complained about it being too linear. I would rather a game be extremely open to where I could get lost then a game where I just mindlessly walk forward throughout.

The complaints about FFXIII wasn't about it being linear, it was about it being a corridor simulator.
FFXIII is one of my favourite FF's but even I hate the corridors.

Complaining about linearity in a Final Fantasy game is like complaining about open world in an Elder Scrolls game.

Final Fantasy used to be a game that had lots of magic and fantasy in it,
It still is?
Yeah it does, I didn't really explain what I meant... Hum... The old games were more magical... Like... They had castles, kinds, guardians and all that stuff but without all the technology... The new ones also have castles and kings and all that stuff, but it has more technology, they don't quite feel like the same world... I don't really know how to explain. <.<
This seems like a pretty good explanation to me.

Some people, for some reason, were disappointed with the last 3 or 4 main integer Final Fantasy games.
And trust me, I'll be EVEN MORE disappointed by XV, I'm certain of that.

Especially if the "Action RPG" rumors were true.
Guess what!

The chances of SE making another turn-based FF is lost in a black hole.

I would much appreciate a battle system like KH (first one) that was the best action rpg battle system thus far from SE.
