Wow. Discovery of the decade - clock speed isn't everything. Well, duh.

Anyone who knows even the slightest bit about how CPU's work already knows that.

    In all honesty...
I don't think the Durango is clocked at 1.6Ghz.

However it's from a way more trusted source then some random kid spreading rumors.
As for now I take it with a grain of salt.

I actually wonder what all those kiddies trying to compare the 360's CPU to the Wii U's CPU will think about this. Feels almost like a Catch 22 scenario. If he's right, then the Wii U's CPU isn't so bad after all. If he's wrong, then it's possible that the Wii U's CPU frequency is also wrong. I know, I know, 2nd hand rumor vs self-tinkering.

How did he get access to an XBOX 720/Durango/Whatever, and I hardly believe that Microsoft has finalized the CPU already.

    I doubt this.

yeah right, because microsoft loves coding on poor console gaming hardware. I really doubt this rumour is true

Wii U CPU Clockspeed leaked: OH MY GAWD GUYS, WII U CPU SUCKS. WEAKER THAN 360 CONFIRMED.
Durango CPU Clockspeed leaked by same guy: FAKE GUYS, IT'S FAKE. MICROSOFT WON'T GIVE US WEAKSAUCE LIKE THIS.

Not that clock-speed really means much, anyways.

Don't fool yourself any further - a lot of people think Mhz = Power. It's pretty common.

Gotta love how everyone is like ...But it'll have 8/16 cores with 2 threads per core so it still owns the WiiU!
Not like any dev would be able to successfully utilize that many cores anyway.

Until we know what kind of CPU it has, this CPU speed is still pretty worthless and doesn't really tell us anything.

I love how everyone in that thread missed the whole point from marcan's tweets.

Right, extra cores are only any good for asynchronous operations, I doubt most games would utilize more than two cores, even if they could.
