Is this possible? The frame around the game kind of bothers me

its pretty easy to change. just plug your micro sd into your computer, open up the gbaframe.bmp (assuming youre using R4) in paint, and make the whole thing black, save it, and voila. no frame.

Does that mean it's not possible to fill the screen? Is it because of the size?

Yes. Even if you could it would look like ass. Every few pixels being doubled and all... yuck.

Right, in GBA mode you can't access the extra resolution at all short of adding a static border before booting.
