Misc Router/Static IP and other stuff that confuses me

And when you select your wireless network, what does the DS say?  Do you have WEP enabled?  Have you tried pointing your browser to 192.168.1.1 and checking out the settings in there to make sure that everything seems to be in order?


I let my DS connect to it and do all the settings automatically, and it says:
ERROR 52000 - Unable to obtain an IP address

I have a wep key on my router, but i've typed that in, and correctly.


and which browser? my computer browser? becuase yes, i went into my router settings and looked at the settings and put them on my DS too and that didnt work

Does the DS get online fine when you select a new configuration and choose your router from the list?


My DS doesn't, no, i find my router, let it autoconfigure, and it fails at the connection test

In your router setup do you have a "DHCP Reservation List" under your DCHP settings anywhere? If so try adding your DS to that.

Nope, no settings like that

I just went on the Nintendo website and my router isn't on the list.... does this mean it's incompatible?
Because before i set up the static ip addresses and wat not, i could connect

ok, just to check my DS is working, i enterd the my laptops static ip settings into my DS and to connect them both at the same time
I get the lil warning message saying conflicting IP addresses
This means the DS is trying to connect, why can't it?

A, do you have WEP-open or WEP-shared?.

i had a problem with that some days ago when i changed my router. Try ussing WEP-shared

i only have a wep option... i have a WPA pre-shared and WPA RADIUS but only a WEP option

Disable the security and check if the DS connect. If it dont work, check your broadcast channel. Try on channel 6 or 11
