Sometimes I find it odd to see people spell it differently to what I do (ROMs) because they are only called ROMs because the games are stored on Read Only Memory therefore ROM is an acronym...
Here's what Wikipedia has to say
    So... What do you think?

There is no plural form of ROM (Read Only Memory), but there is the plural of Rom/rom (the file)
So if you're referring to the game file you should treat "rom" just like any other word.

I voted ROMs. Because it is Read Only Memory.

    Not that I really care...

Oh yeah... "I get my Read Only Memories from site x". It's an acronym for Read Only Memory but the word 'ROM' or 'ROMs' is just a slang word so I guess it doesn't have a proper spelling.
Ah well, I shall continue spelling it my way and the world will go on...

I vote to stop abbreviating the name and just call it Read Only Memory. That saves all the confusion [IMG]

I use 'ROM' when referring to Read Only Memory, but I use 'rom' or 'roms' when referring to files containing data dumped from the ROM chips in video game cartridges.

    Then shouldn't you say qft?

I say ROMs, but ROMS if I'm typing too fast and the shift key gets held down a for a bit too long.

I voted for ROMs, since that's the only way to form the plural of an acronym. But usually I call them ROM Image files (or short: ROM Images). Everything else just doesn't seem right.

I wonder how many would have voted for "ROM's" if you'd put it up there.
