I'm hoping if it is done it isn't a half assed port. They might just do a rushed port like they did with GTA4 on PC. One of the last questions in the interview.

Rockstar doesn't really have time to redo the lightings and whatnot for the updated wiiU hardware so I'm assuming if they do port it it will look exactly like the other console's versions

This is one of the reasons why I didn't get a Wii U. Why should I buy a console for one or two console exclusive games, when most of the third party tittles are available on consoles that I already own? I'll just get GTA V on the Xbox 360 or PC instead as I already own those consoles. The Wii U doesn't have enough First Party exclusives that attract my interest to justify buying the console in the first place. Maybe as time goes on, my interest in the system may grow. But then again, the Next Xbox is rumored to be officially announced in 2013, and the same goes for the PS4.

I do want to get GTA V because it appears to take place in San Andreas! I remember San Andreas, it was friggen awesome! Sometimes when I was in the countryside island place, I could have sword that I encountered bigfoot while riding on a dirtbike. I wonder if GTA V will have a "Hot Coffee" mod? Remember that fiasco? LOL!

You should never buy a console based on third party games. I'm sorry but it's true. Especially with the PS3 and 360 having pretty much the exact same library, you should only judge a console based on it's first party support, it's exclusives. So yeah, you'd be doing the right decision in not getting the WiiU for just one game. But for me, as I already own a PS3 and WiiU, if this did come out, and even if it looked the same (fyi, i couldn't care less if it looked worse then the PS3/360 versions) if the GamePad made the gameplay more engaging, I'd gladly go for the WiiU version.

The same argument you presented for the Wii u is the same argument that can be use for
Next Xbox and the PS4,so to say they are coming doesn't add anything to your statement.
Shoot, the same can be said for the certain console you have since you play on the PC.

I think they can do a lot with the controller, so bring it on Rockstar.

I don't think I want a port. Games that are actually made for the Wii U will be awesome! Games that are just ports will have issues like the modern warfare with its bad frame rate and the like.

Do you actually have the game or are you basing that off hearsay?

Even then, once devs start getting use to the system, the problems will start to dissipate.

It's true that the framerate in Black Ops 2 Wii U isn't too solid in the campaign but in multiplayer (which is pretty much the only thing that matters in COD), it's apparently smooth-going.

launch ports are always terrible, the developers just did a quick and dirty port to get it out in time

    Not quite.

Make no mistake, first party support is absolutely vital to a console, but consoles live and die by their third party support. That was my problem with the Wii, one I know a lot of people shared; the Nintendo exclusives may have been nice, yes, but I also wanted a console that would keep up with the major releases of the day (the Mass Effects, the GTAs, etc. etc. of the gaming world), and it just couldn't provide.

It's an important factor, one that shouldn't be dismissed so casually.

Er...you realize Nintendo consoles have the highest amounts of exclusives of the three...right?
If you weren't aware, the thing JUST released, so of course it'll be a little bit before it has more of an exclusive library (though it already has a bunch).

Instead of words I only have a picture to illustrate the importance of third parties in line with your argument Gahars, old chap

So many quotes that could be abused from this interview..

"There'll be a much larger audience on PS3 than there will be on PS4."

Sounds like he is saying the PS4 is going to bomb.... It might but nothing is known about the hardware to the general public, but then again maybe he knows something we don't.

I agree. The benefit of the Wii was that it was cheap enough to buy and throw away after you'd played all the first party games. The Wii U doesn't have that luxury, but I'm optimistic that it won't have the same story as the Wii. Some of the third party exclusives look pretty cool, but I have a feeling my Wii U will be mostly playing Wii (and, hopefully, GC) games until the library grows a little richer. I'd be happy to see GTA V on Wii U just because of what it would symbolize: Nintendo is definitely back to hardcore. Most naysayers seem to be forgetting that hardcore games aren't necessarily the ones that look the prettiest, that's like saying real gamers only buy good looking games.

Aside from that, I'm all but betting my participation in the next gen on Microsoft and Sony not releasing ridiculously powerful consoles. Microsoft might, but I'm pretty sure Sony would have learned an important lesson about the PSP, PS3 and the Vita powerhouses which probably cost them more than they earned (in terms of missed opportunities, more than profitability).

I have a Wii U, a ps3 and a PC.... So far I really like the Wii U. I have NintendoLand, NSMB U and CoD and all three are pretty great! There are some issues with Nintendoland freezing right now, but it seems to be a common issue and a fix is expected.

NSMB U is better than I expected. I expected total rehash and it turned out to be the best 2D mario game since Super Mario World! Its not really a system seller though IMO... neither really is Nintendoland at least not on its own.

CoD seems to be fine on the Wii U.

The Miiverse aspect etc. is a killer app. It really is awesome. Its definitely a step in the right direction.

I think Nintendo has to polish off a few things here or there but I think Wii U is off to a decent start.

I have a feeling nextgen will be cutthroat between Wii U and Xbox Infinity (if thats what it is to be called) with Sony taking a big hit - I think Sony is in some trouble. They have some great exclusives but in general their online offerings and lineup pale in comparison to Nintendo and Microsoft... IMO..

Quite honestly, I think the best move for Sony would be to delay.. and be late to the game but have much better offering at a competitive price but you never know what tricks they might have up their sleeves...

Holy fuck I thought it was just me. I popped in the game last night and the robot was telling me about Mii's visiting my park, then a loud beep would constantly be heard, and I always had to unplug the console. I disabled the internet and it worked perfectly after that.
