I have searched on the forums and I hope I am posting this in the correct section.

For those of you who play "Daigasso! Band Brothers" , you may know that there is an expansion to it called "Daigasso! Band Brothers Request Selection" which consists of additional songs. The expansion is available only in a GBA Cartridge form which is meant to be plugged into Slot 2 of the DS and is only playable when the main game cartridge is inserted at the same time in Slot 1.

I am using an R4 to play the main game. I have just ordered the original "Daigasso! Band Brothers Request Selection" (I can't seem to find the rom anywhere on the net)

My 1st question is : Is it possible to use an application like "Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool V0.31" or any other recommended ones, to rip the Slot cartridge? After that, do I just copy the ripped iso into the games folder on my R4 where I have the main game iso of "Daigasso! Band Brothers" stored? Will it work this way?

2nd question is: For a R4 user, what is the recommended application to use for ripping original DS games into iso image?
( I happen to be in Tokyo atm and just saw the official release today (26th June 2008) of "Daigasso! Band Brothers 2". I am going to buy it tomorrow instead of waiting another few days for it to become available on the net :-P )

Thank you

Rudolph has a GBA backup tool that should rip it. Never used it myself. You won't be able to play a backup of the request selection on the R4, you will need a slot-2 cart for that. It works for me using CycloDS and EZ 3in1. Theres a hacked version out that has the resquest selection songs on it anyway. Seeing as you said you just ordered the game then i wouldn't worry about it really as you will have to official cart to play them from.

Btw the ROM is dumped, most sites listed it as an XXXX release as it's not an official retail cart, look for

Thanks for the tip Triforce. I can't seem to find the hacked version of Daigasso Band Brothers with the Request Selection already included. This game is quite old and several links for it are dead already :-(

Can anyone suggest which application to use so I can rip the "Selection Request" gba cartridge and combine it to the Main game ISO, such that I can play it direct from R4, without the need to use a slot 2 device like the EZ 3-in-1?

Thing is , the videos work fine in the Edge Dev and Canary builds. But whatever the fix they made was, has never been pushed to Beta or Stable builds. Its been that way for as far back as I tested. Which was Edge 84. They are on 125 now.

@RedColoredStars, Yeah, and I was in quite a mood at that time. I would consider choosing Firefox or Opera instead, been using Firefox for over 7 years now than Chrome.

Tried contacting Nintendo to see if they can reach out to MS about it. But Nintendo said the videos are working fine. Without enough people saying no, they don't work fine, it will never get fixed.

I have Firefox and used it for many years. But Edge runs noticible faster on my pc at both opening and loading pages.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I don't think Nintendo will know anything about troubleshooting Edge. They mostly do technical support regarding their console family.

    Good one, Ken.

Right. But they could create a ticket that gets forwarded to the proper team. I think Nintendo would care that their videos aren't working on a major browser
