Why don't you call MS? The 360s have a 3 years warranty in RROD cases, give it a try, you might end with a new console.

Its flashed so i wouldnt really want a new console. I dunno how old the 360 is, im guessing 2 years old. Just it had no sign of this coming at all, it was all working perfectly the other day.

wrapping the 360 in a towel for about 30 mins whilst turnt on to overheat it to heat the solder up to allow it to reset.

i would suggest wat lagman said, and contacting ms. purposefully overheating something doesn't sound like a good idea lol

I fixed mine without using the X-Clamp fix, it isn't really needed. Just search for the Cent Fix.

X-Clamp fix is a great way to fix you RROD 360, it does truly work.

Towel Trick= Crap. Please don't do it.
    It harms it. Why?:

Its a system failure, thats what the 3 rings mean. But when u wrap a towel around the 360, ur blocking all vents, thats bad right there. Air cant circulate, hell, not proven but it may rise high temperatures. And, if you got high temps, u can *not proven* melt the soldered wires. So try NOT to do the towel shit. You dont have any choice, either:
    Call up MS
    or
Well you can always buy new internals.

Might as well shove your 360 in the microwave while you're at it, I'm sure it's got the same effect [IMG]

You do realise the the towel trick is designed to re-melt the solder that's actually broken in 2, right? That's WHY it's designed to cause intense heat. The towel trick isn't designed to have a towel wrapped around the 360 the entire time, just for 30 minutes or so while the solder melts.

It doesn't melt the solder. Who ever thought of the trick is an idiot. Lead free solder tends to melt at 200C (few are lower than that) , wrapping the 360 in a towel won't get it any where near that , and even if it could get that hot , it would melt the damn case.

But towel tricks DO work (temporarily).
I'm guessing if people have enough knowledge to mod a 360, they can fix RROD but for some reason the towel trick is quite widely used. I don't know why
