    FECKACHECKAS!
so the story. We had some guests over who had kids. i didn't have time to play with them so i handed them my ds (1st mistake) went upstairs to continue doing work. about 3 hours later they leave, i come down to pick my DS up. looks fine, except when you try to turn it on. both screens have this huge ass crack going down the middle of both screens. Also when you turn it on, the green light goes on but turns of 2 seconds later. This kids parents are way too stingy to replace it for me, also they are in no condition to pay for it either. i might manage to get a 2nd hand one or none at all because here in aus, thy DS is worth 200 new.so its RIP MAH DS FOR NAOz. [/rant]

A valuable lesson learned there my friend never let little kids especially relations near your stuff, i came home from work once to find my motorbike (suzuki bandit 600) on its side because my cousins had been climbing on it, ofcourse they or my mum couldn't lift it so they left it for me to do, £500 worth of damage done and i had to pay the bill

Pfft, I never let any kids touch my DS. My little cousins, or parents friends. I only let people over the age of 13 touch it lol.

    Is that a 'Ghost' Case?

I like it but I'd like to get one of the other replacement cases floating around and paint it whatever color I want [IMG]

Broke my ds with one of those SHOCK! replacement cases. Who knows, if it survived maybe you'd kill it with the case, same result, dead ds. God I wish I would never have bought it.

What, how? Did you do it under water?

Most of my friends are cool enough to buy there kid's DS's anyway so there not dumb as to 'stab' the touch screen and the sort.

yeah it is, about an hour after my i found my ds the courier came in ==" It has the plastic feel that you can paint it any colour you want, never know if i manage to get my hands on another DS i might keep it crystal clear or paint with yellow or something.

What were they doing to it!? Wouldn't their parents know, and presumably care, if their children were beating an a shiny game system? Unless something really weird happened, it's totally the parents' fault. [IMG]

EDIT: Did you even notify the parents?

How? Replacing that damn case, it's pretty hard to do and some pieces of the replacement case (shock! chrome) didn't fit properly, my luck. It works, but when I open it, it won't stop at the angle it's supposed to (because of the piece that wouldn't fit), my wifi range is down to a very few meters, my right speaker works sometimes, when it doesn't (most of the time), I hear this scratching noise and it's causing the battery to drain pretty fast. It looks great yeah, other than that, meh.

You should talk to YOUR parents about it. Or sue the kids parents. [IMG]

I would never give anything to kids , they just destroy everything. I would not even give them a 360 controller. (even though it's undestroyable. )

Heh, i let my 8 yr old sister play my DS all the time. She knows better than to stab it or try to break it. Guess you are unlucky that you got stuck with the more...wild ones

How on earth did they physically manage to crack both screens in half? :wtf:
Might be worth giving Nintendo a ring for a repair cost quote, if you're lucky it's just the screens that are buggered and it might be cheaper than replacing the whole DS...

Oooo, thaaat's dooodgy. I've never had a problem with cases not fitting but i've never had experience with Shock cases. I was under the assumption that they made quality gear.

You did it wrong. Get a file, and open it up again. Plug the Wifi antenna back in (or replace it if you shredded it), file down the misshapen piece, and line up the speakers with the corresponding pads.
