Hi sorry to open a new thread on this, i was reading it in a post earlier that said it was ok, but now i cant find it.

So i just modded my right joycon pin 1 and 10 with a tiny wire link. Boots into rcm evertime and have installed my SXOS

But noticed it will only work wireless, the switch will no longer see it docked.

Is this normal, guessing i will have to remove the link.

I had this same issue this morning. All I did to fix the issue was go to system settings and then go to controllers and simply Update joycons. I hope this helps.

Yes, I don't know what pin 1 is used for but when when you ground pin 10 with pin 1 the joycon can only connect via low-energy bluetooth.
In that case I recommend installing some kind of a switch (I install a reed switch) but that, of course, requires takinjg apart your joycon and some soldering skills.

Yeah you need a reed switch if your gonna keep them connected. I used a couple small metal plates soldered to the wires and attached them to the back of the joycon release button so they touch a metal rail and connect when I push the release.
