    Review: eWin Rumble Pak

    Official GBAtemp Review

I've just finished up a short review of the eWin Rumble Pak. A cheaper alternative to the official Nintendo rumble pak.

How does eWin's effort compare? Hit the link below to find out!

I never grasped the idea behind this.
Why would anyone want to have a rumbling handheld :S.

I can see it working somewhat well w/ Metroid Pinball [IMG]

But other than that, i think it would annoy me!!

Interesting to see a 3rd party do rumble better than the official one... with more options of color and then stronger... and quietier... Craziness I say!

They should have added that extra ram required for online usage to this rumble pak to make it an even better deal.

Just to clear up some misinformation:
-I have an official rumble pak sitting right next to me that I bought from Walmart. In the USA :/

-And if I'm not mistaken, doesn't the EZ Flash V come with an expansion pak that features rumble?

Is it Lite or Phat sized? I didn't think the Lite one had been released outside Japan.

does anyone know if you can open up this rumble card and replace it with the shell of the ds-lite dust protecter so that it is glossy?

No the layout inside both shells are different, as are the screw placements.

It's not a big deal. The finish is exactly the same as the Nintendo rumble pak actually, which isn't glossy either surprisingly.

You won't notice the difference when it's in your DS.

i never understood why anyone wants something that will drain the battery faster. how many games does this work with again? like 3-5 something like that i mean the official one?

is it possible to stick it in the casing of a GBA cart to use it in the original DS? I've got a broken GBA flashcart lying around, and I'm vaguely interested in this, but obviously not interested enough to buy a whole new DS just to use it.

Yes it looks like it should be possible, but you might need to put some strong adhesive underneath the PCB or something to stop the PCB from shifting upwards into the casing.

Yep, I've got a one of these and it works nicely. Not noticed much of a change in terms of battery life, but then it's only a handfull of games that use rumble. it's used well in picross, that jap baseball game and EBA - I found my EBA playing gets more accurate with the little jolt of feedback each time you hit. In magnetica it's quite weird, it feels really good when you're selecting your level, but it doesn't seem to really relate to much going on on screen when you're actually in the game.

I have seen official Rumble Packs being sold here in shops, and IIRC there also were Lite ones, so...
