Damn, I feel like you really sell the game short in this one. A few things worth mentioning though as somebody who's a decent fan of the game:
Corpse Party 3DS isn't itself a remake of the PC-98 version, more a definitive release of the various remakes that have been made, those being PSP and PC at the time. The PSP version is pretty much the 3DS version, whereas the PC version I don't believe the company that ported it had the rights to the voice acting or artwork from the PSP version, so both are unique. On top of that, both the PSP and PC versions have exclusive bad endings and extra chapters. The 3DS version includes all of these, plus a few extra of its own. I think it has been succeeded by the 2021 release on various systems (PC, Switch, PS4, and XB1), but the 3DS version is still a decent pick for sure.
You mentioning the graphics as gory was an interesting point too, because I feel they're kinda intentionally not a lot of the time. It's graphic in an incredibly interesting way, giving you some glimpses of blood, albeit somewhat dumbed down due to the pixelated nature of it. The sound design carries the horror of the game, and the almost detached graphical style forces you to fill in the blanks for yourself, resulting in something gorier than is maybe actually shown.
Also feels a shame you mention the wrong ends as something to avoid without really going into any more detail. The alternate endings are a highlight to me, and the game giving you a checklist of the ones you've seen really encourages you to think how you can steer your cast into unique dangers. Some ends become puzzles in themselves, but I do agree some can become a little too obscure.
As a final note, what exactly was the bug in Chapter 4? You bring it up but don't really elaborate.
Anyways I always like to see more stuff on Corpse Party, and I get that it's far from a perfect game. It just feels like there was more to say than you actually said for it.
