I was super excited to play ps1 games on Wii U but whenever I go to launch a game it crashes. I’m not sure if I have the correct bios files, or if my directory is wrong, or if my game files are wrong. The bios files I have are PSZONPSP660.bin, scph101.bin, scph7001.bin, scph5501.bin, scph1001.bin. I found these via the RetroArch website for the PCSX-Rearmed emulator and the bios files are all put in a bios folder on the root of the RetroArch folder. Also for the Ps1 Games games, I extracted them—they came with a bue and cue file—I’m not sure if that correct. I’m doing this all my self because no one has made an in depth video about this stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Crashes how?

PS1 bios files go in Retroarch/Cores/System
The PS1 Core support CHD, PBP and Bin/Cue at least but imo best to use CHD (smaller filesize)

If it continues to be updated, what else needs to be implemented that the Wii U will support? Could someone answer me?
I wish there was a way, or that it was possible, to see things like Dreamcast and DS running directly from Retroarch on the Wii U, but I think that's pretty impossible lol.
I'm asking about cores, online multiplayer.

Still no X68000 cores for Retroarch wii and wiiU? What has it been done on android and not on wiiU? What are the existing cores that exist on some other version and not on wii? What is the best Retroarch version to have with most cores, the window or the linux or the 3DS one?

The X68000 core will probably get ported to the Wii U version of Retroarch, at some point in the near future as well.. But when/if they do.. It'll sadly still only be for Tiramisu for now.. As that's what there still actively developing the Wii U version of Retroarch for.. So once it does get finally ported over.. Someone will that have to moddify it to work under the Aroma environment etc..

Any chance the Wii U Retroarch will have native support for 4:3 in the future ?

I generally leave my Wii U (and my PS3 too) at 4:3 in the system settings because of Game Cube games and some Wii games too, unfortunately Retroarch, despite having the 4:3 option, kept the aspect ratio 16:9 on my CRT TV.

I was a little bummed about this because I expected it to work perfectly on my old TV to play some retro games.

Online Multiplayer support has always been spotty on WiiU, it did kinda work but was laggy and not usable, it would be nice if it were looked into to see if it can be done properly but none with the needed skills have stepped up.

There is a Standalone DS emulator for WiiU NooDS. it works but is still pretty slow right now.
are there cores/settings for lightgun games? Lethal Enforcers 2 works on mame 2003 plus, but unable to get wiimote working as a lightgun.
Some of the Cores do work with Lightgun games but they can only be used with the touchscreen on the WiiU Gamepad, theres no Wiimote support on the WiiU version of RA (I think the Wii version can use Wiimotes tho, but unlikely Lethal Enforcers 2 will run well on Wii)?
Does vitaQuake 2 works on the Aroma version of RetroArch?
It should do?

It should just work?
You can try going into Settings>Input>Retropad Binds>Port 2 Controls, see if you Pro Controller is set in Device Index
if it is, you can try Set All binds, then assign you buttons, then back out and Save your CFG?

You maybe able to set a Custom Aspect Ratio..
In Settings>Video and set Aspect Ratio to Custom.
You can now adjust the settings to make the UI match your CRT screen. :)

I kind of fixed the aspect ratio on the CRT TV.

I set the Wii U system to 16:9 and on RetroArch I set it to "Complete" (this way it will stretch the image to fill the entire screen, as the TV is 4:3 it will reduce it to have the correct aspect ratio), It's not ideal and it's not perfect, but it works, the only problem is that while the aspect ratio is "correct" on my old TV, on the Wii U GamePad the image is stretched to fill the entire screen.

Still thanks for responding.
