In fbneo_libretro.info it said that if device powerfull enought prefer fbneo instead of FBalpha 2012, do you think it's the case ?
By the way, I get black screen with Fbalpha 2012 with sound in the background, and picture plus sound with Fbneo. Same with PCE fast and PCE can't figure why
Sounds like an issue your side, I have just tried and played a game from all 3 of those Cores :P
I haven't got a clue why your only getting sound with those Cores, but it isn't a Core problem :/

so in summary :
go to input setting & change port 2 to wii u pro controller
launch a game
go to quick menu then control menu & change mapped port 3 to 2
save

ok ill try it
I remembered one thing also disable the (gamepad read spoof) in your aroma because if you have it active and enter retroarch aroma the aroma will appear two gamepads in the control output 1 and 2 leaving the pro controller in 3 without it active it works normal you can test I did this here and it solved it

In Ploggy sig retroarch.wuhb archive is 7,4MO may I miss something ?

Thanks for charing you ra config file. What is your tree under fs:/vol/external01/romsaves/ ?
I think you will have to wait for the official release to get the final .wuhb that will include the assets, as @ploggy explained. Until then your assets path should point to where this directory actually is (sd card path style /retroarch/assets).
My sd card romsaves has the saves and states subdirectories holding save games for RA cores I used.
Post automatically merged:

- Load PSX Core
- Go to Audio Settings
- Change Audio Driver to Ax Pro
- Set sample rate to 44000 (This one has to be done every time you load the PSX core).
You should set the sample rate to what the emulator (RA core) is expecting. For PCSX-ReARMed it is 44100.
Setting it tiny bit slower was a workaround for getting rid of some popping in some games. It should no longer be required with newer builds.

Here you go @lordelan try this...

For anyone else who wants to make their own wuhb file:
You'll need to download a tool called wuhb packager - https://github.com/Nightkingale/WUHB-Packager
Download Devkit Pro - https://devkitpro.org/wiki/Getting_Started
Once you have Devkit Pro installed, navigate to where its installed (in my case C:/Devkitpro) then open mysys2/mingw64.exe
Type - pacman -Syu wut-tools this will install the needed stuff to run wuhb packager, then all you need to do is run wuhb packager and add your images and rpx :D (I've added the needed Retroarch.rpx to the zip too)
Haha nice. Thank you very much.

Did it work?
Yes I did one with pretty icon posted above, and some splashs, picked here and there, It work well. I observed it's a bit slower than the one you post and only 906 Ko. I solved my black screens, it was some shaders settings : draming for myself...

I have just tested this new Retroarch for Aroma (link WIP from @ploggy profile) and first I must say thank you soooo much! I works perfectly! Finally i don't depend on the vWii emulators.

I'm used to RA in other platforms and I miss here the Video Filters (at least the more basic ones like CRT or Scanlines)

- Is there a reason why are not included? Do you know if they work (copying from another RA)?
To answer the part about "Filters", I was trying to set "Shaders", but i have seen the option is disabled in the retroarch.cfg file, but even enabling it, the only possible shaders to choose are the "slang", but they crash if loaded.
So, I used the Overlays option as filters instead, selecting effects / scanlines --> This does a pretty good job ;)

Shaders cannot be packed on WiiU Retroarch because they are made with the SDK iirc? but there is a pack floating about somewhere on google ;) (Actually I don't know if they would work on Aroma, I've never tried)

Sometimes ago shaders, did some nice job, but only in few emmus(i.e snes9x), and just a few crt ones...
But now afaik they looks like to crash RA

Ahh that's what it is then.. I always used Overlays for the Cores so I never needed the shaders... So its very possible the shaders have broken down the line, hopefully we can utilise the shader compiler that was released to make some nice new SDK free shaders for Aroma. :D

How is netplay on the Wii U currently?

I've seen some videos from years ago and I've seen that it works, but I don't know if there are people working to improve it or if there are even people working to improve Retroarch on the Wii U.

Forgive me for anything, this is the first time I've had a Wii U (console).

Netplay on WiiU RA is non existent, it was working-ish years ago (I even made a couple videos showing it) but even that has broken since. I think the plan is to get it working again but I'm not sure.
