Hey all! I'm sorry. I know other posts talk about this but this is hidden so deep within a bigger thread and the solutions offered there didn't help me so I beg you pardon, I started this thread.

I run retroarch from my sd card

sd:\retroarch
and
sd:\wiiu\apps\retroarch

Then I downloaded the assets and I put them in

sd:\retroarch\media\assets\

The background remains white. I went into Retroarch app and browsed to User Interface > Background and I tried to change it but when I go the the folder when all the backgrounds are, nothing is shown. The files are there, but Retroarch fail to see them. They are all 1440x900 PNG files.

What am I doing wrong? Please help me!

You have to replace the xmb bg.png file with the picture that you want for the background. And, first of all, you are getting that white background because you have not unzipped the assets zip file into your retroarch media folder.

1.Download any wallpaper that you want. Make sure that it's in .png format, or convert it from jpg to .png if necessary.
2.Rename your downloaded wallpaper bg.png. Now navigate to the xmb folder (sd:\retroarch\media\xmb). If you don't see the xmb folder in the media folder, then you probably have not unzipped your assets package into the media folder yet, as mentioned above.
3.Now that you are in the xmb folder, find the xmb theme that you are using. The default retroarch themes are dot-art, flatui, monochrome, neoactive, pixel, retroactive, systematic. Depending on which xmb theme you are using, go into this folder and find the bg.png file, located in the png folder. For example (sd:\retroarch\media\xmb\monochrome\png\bg.png). Replace this bg.png file in the png folder with the bg.png file that you created. You should now see your new wallpaper showing on the screen when you start Retroarch. Hope this helps.

I have been trying for days to figure out how to find the section in retroarch for binding user x or whatever to make it so I can use a pro controller, but I can not find it. Can someone please help?
