Dont know if Retroarch Mupen 64 core is messed up because I got the screen fit in the bezel border without black lines by using ctr shade and linaer shade. it looked so good but it makes games slow drop maybe half of fps and the graphic is off.

The icon is provided by the menu driver (in your case probably ozone).
I'm not sure whether it is mapped by the default core (if you set one up) or the playlist name but to be sure, playlists should follow Libretro's naming scheme.

Example:
Nintendo - Game Boy.lpl
Nintendo - Super Nintendo Entertainment System.lpl
running game boy and snes

Why not try yourself?
Because I have no use out of retroarch on my switch unless said specific game would work perfectly in MP.

So that would be a lot of work when you are a busy parent to end up at something that maybe doesn't even work.
In that regard I was wondering if someone has or can test it that already has everything set up.

So yeah that's why.

So I'm keeping my Switch 100% offline and I have to manually add in the asset files. Do I really the ENTIRE folder, or is it just the XMB folder? There's an ABSURD amount of files in there...

Also, when starting a game using either the MelonDS Core or DSmumE Core, I just get a black screen and eventually RetroArch crashes. Do I need any other files for these cores to work?

Use melonds standalone, it's way better

Fullspeed

Tried MelonDS and it's working like a charm! It needs the Firmware and BIOS files (that I thought were the reason RetroArch would give me a black screen upon booting a game), but I already had those on my PC, so everything works.

Might look into creating a forwarder for MelonDS, but for now, my HomeBrew Menu nsp is doing the job just fine. Thanks.

Did anyobody have success with configuring the N64 NSO controller? Spent 2 hours with this and I'm just frustrated on how incredibly bad the configuration UI for this retropad nonsense is. The games I want to play are not compatible with the NSO app sadly.
