Why do you want to increase the frame skip that high?
Your better off trying the FBA versions to see if that particular rom works .
FBA sometime is better than mame2003 on some games.
Because the game I want to play isn't supported by mame2003 and pfba,it's easier to add drive to mame2003 than fba.
But it runs only on 20FPS,so I want to increase the frameskip to get better experience.
I looked through sourcefiles in mame2003 and found nothing about limitting frameskip<6,maybe it's in RetroArch:wacko:

It was because function int osd_skip_this_frame(void) in video.c.
I don't konw if it is intended, variable frameskip_counter will increase 1 after function osd_skip_this_frame been called every time.
So if set frameskip > 6, frameskip_table[frameskip][frameskip_counter] is every possibility 1,which means this frame will be skipped.

How do you change the default core for a game? Because I always get this on gpSP failed to load content what gives??? VBA next does work.

So yeah two questions:

Having a hard time playing FF6. Tried with all SNES cores and all seem to have issues with the sound. GPSP doesnt seem to do any better, VBA likewise.

Am i doing something wrong or does this game not have 100% compatability yet?

What are you trying to load.
Normally you would use load content ,choose the game from the folder then select core.
once loaded and run this will show up in History and you will be able to run using the same core.
If you want history changed just load the game using a different core.

Hey I just updated to Vitashell 1.41 and what happened to all the files? I can't access the psp save file to pull my data off. Was this taken away or something?

menu scrolls smoother :)
Had stuck in VBA core when loading new psx content though.
Has startdirectory shown when loading content.

Not sure if the PCEpad/turbo buttons are new as not played PCE for a while.

Turbo Does not always work though.
Found Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari would sometimes lose kick and punch if turbo switched on.

Yeah but the gpSP core always fails to load games. How do I fix this? The VBA one is fine.

Maybe it's better of to reinstall retroarch. How can you safely remove it and reinstall it???

Do you have gba_bios.bin in data > retroarch > system

Just tried crash bandicoot 2 ntranced. Video and sound was choppy in gpsp. Zipped game ran the worst. Unzipped, still choppy but somewhat better. Vbanext ran it the best. No slowdowns.

Every game launched with gpSP gives a failed to load or even crashes the whole retroarch app.

Thats what your missing the bios as mindglitch has pointed out.

Does mgba still generally run better than the retroarch options?

Also darn, Tried Threads of Fate and still has visual glitches and slowdown (surprising for such a tiny game). Need to try Brave Fencer Musashi still

I think they all pretty close to each other. Some games may work better than others on either VBA MGBA GPsp etc

Did anybody get two player Gameboy to work with the TGBDual core? It works on Android but not on Vita or Vita TV.
Here's what I tried: I loaded Tetris, enabled the Link Cable in Quickmenu->Options

(btw why is this in quickmenu and not in Core Options? How many mutually exclusive, confusing, Options screens in hundreds of submenus do we need?)

But I don't get two player screens, also I cannot select 2 players in Tetris. On Android, if I do the same steps, it displays two Tetris screens side-by-side.

Another question would be: how do I access the core options like TGB Dual "Enable Link Cable" or FBAlpha "BIOS" options from the quickmenu, BEFORE a game is loaded? I don't have a quickmenu unless I load a game.

EDIT: At least I figured out how to use Unibios in FBA using the quickmenu options. I have to select UNIBIOS under NEOGEO and then in addition select the UniBIOS in the BIOS option. Pretty confusing but it seems to work now.

I guess two player may work when network is up and running.

Maybe vita TV has the dual player working with link cable but not on the handheld.

Retroarch on Android has been developed a lot longer and is a base where info is rife on the system.

The guys working on the Vita have no such luck.

My guess is they will have all this up and running but it will take some time.

My other guess is that it will be comparable to the android if the GPU and other sections of the vita a free'd

As for the many options you can cut it down. The setting is in the user interface section.

Ah, this takes me back. PCSX Rearmed on RetroArch has arbitrarily decided to ignore all input but the D-pad and the damn search button. Reinstalling didn't help, removing the config files didn't help. I'm halfway to smashing my Vita into powder at this point.
