Hey guys, a few updates.

SS-Hexaeco Mod pack has been updated to include all new overlays.

SS-Hexaeco Sega 32X standalone has been added...
https://www.mediafire.com/file/bfhiufil7znexa0/SS-Sega_32X.zip/file
Workaround to get full speed, launch the emulator and load any game, most likely it will not run full speed. Now simply load any "Different" game and it should be full speed. In other words, if you want to play Mortal Kombat II Arcade Edition, first load any game (After Burner for example), then load Mortal Kombat II Arcade Edition and it will be full speed. I am not positive why this occurs but is a known issue that will happen, then simply go away, then rear its stubbornness again.

RA-Frankenstein new forwarders have also been added...let me know what you think of the 32X and Frankenstein forwarders if you get a chance to install

Over the last few evenings I've had time to update my emulators and forwarders with the HEXAECO cores. Everything is working great, the Wii never ceases to amaze me! DoDonpachi is running great :)

I see that the FBNEO core supports the CPS1 games, what are the advantages of using this core? I always used the CPS1 core and don't recall experiencing any issues.

I just noticed your previous post @RunningSnakes. I'll definitely check out that Picodrive core, I tested the RA core and did find your recommended method worked. Although I simply booted Mortal Kombat II, and then booted it again and it worked without issue. On first boot, after the logos I could only hear the music but had no image on screen.

It will be nice to have this HEXAECO core with it's own forwarder on the home screen. 32x is worth checking out for sure. Have you tried the 32x port of Golden Axe on it by any chance? I must check that out.

The FBNEO core plays Carrier Air Wing and Forgotten Worlds (CPS1) correct. Carrier Air Wing will freeze midway through the 1st level and Forgotten Worlds can be booted but not started using the original CPS1 core. Also (CPS2) Armored Warriors input configuration is correct and/or can be changed with FBNEO, the original core cfg is locked and the game cannot be played correct.

The FBNEO CPS-1 core only plays 3 games, one of them being Cadillacs & Dinosaurs (which does not play on the original FBNEO core), the others being Final Fight and Ghouls n Ghosts. Those 3 games alone warrant its inclusion.

I have not tried Golden Axe 32X, i did not know it existed. I'll have to check that out too, thank you for the suggestion.

Ah I see, I mist not have played those games on the old core, because I do have them in my roms folder. Thanks for clarifying!

The 32x hack for Golden Axe is a port of the Mega Drive version, but replaces the graphics with the arcade version. I think it's on CD Romance.

Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear, Sega SG-1000 SS-Hexaeco standalone setups and forwarders are released for download.

I also did some cleaning to the other SS setups and some minor clean to both Sega and SNES forwarder channels.

Using @SaulFabre recompiled cores of RA Neo Geo, Amstrad Cap32, and Sega 32X PicoDrive, i was able to get working as standalone emulators without issues in my tests. These are released also and please post if you run into issues with anything.

Thanks for keeping the Wii community alive everyone especially @SaulFabre for providing us with his beautiful recompiles, and of course SuperrSonic for providing Hexaeco. Although it is no longer updated, what we have is pretty frickin sweet.

Great work! I'll add these to my setup tonight.
Post automatically merged:

I replaced the SS-32X with the new RA-32X but neither my Wii remote nor my classic controller work in the RA menu.

Edit: when I connected a controller to my 8BitDo Gamecube receiver that works, so I guess this build only supports GC controllers?

The core works great, it booted up After Burner Complete with no issues and it ran smoothly :)

I also added SS Game Gear and SS Master System and saved my path and video settings. Again, tested both cores with The Lucky Dime Caper and everything works perfectly.

I'm also using the forwarders you made for these so my Wii system menu has a nice, uniform look.

Thanks so much for working on these, I'm very happy with the results!

I wonder what the issue was with the NeoCD core that it would not work for you?

Ill have to test this again, maybe i overlooked something...

@Charco
I just tested After Burner Complete and the Golden Axe 32 hack you referred me to. Both are working with wiimote straight from install, no input change was necessary for me.

Can anyone else confirm RA Sega 32 from their end with input not working or working please. Thanks

Regarding NeoCD, not positive why it has issues. It could be very possible i made a mistake while editing because both Amstrad cap32 and Sega 32 picodrive cores were recompiled with RA base .179 and directory paths were perfect. NeoCD was also .179 but directory path changes would not save.

I decided to do Sega CD also and nearly have it finished so Sega will be complete soon, then i'll give NeoCD another shot.

Looking forward to the Sega CD release.

I think I know what may be the issue with the RA 32X core with my input. I have the new 8BitDo Gamecube Retro Receiver in port 1 and I think RA recognises that even if no controller is connected to it. I will take it out of port 1 to test if the Wii remote then works and report back with an update.

Wii remote works fine in the SS standalone emulators though, so perhaps vanilla RA does things differently as regards assigning player 1 input if there is something in the Gamecube controller port.

Can you post a link to your 8BitDo GameCube setup please. I'd like to take a look into maybe buying one of those. How well does the D-Pad perform?

Doing an audio fix for both Amstrad which has bugged me ever since i released the first version (volume was too low) and SG-1000 (volume too high.

These updates will be added when i release Sega CD later tomorrow. I wanted any opinion of the final 2 game logos on the wheel... Dark Wizard, Lunar (Blue), Final Fight CD, Road Avenger, Snatcher, Robo Aleste, Sonic CD, Shining Force CD have made the list...

2 of these games...Popful Mail, Earthworm Jim SE, Lords Of Thunder, Heart Of The Alien, Eternal Champions, Thunderhawk, Mickey Mania, Silpheed, Batman Returns?

My suspicions were correct with the 8BitDo Retro Receiver, when I eject it from port 1 and start RA-32X, the Wii remote functions perfectly in the RA menu. I don't think I'll ever be using a Wii remote-only setup for 32X anyway, so this won't be an issue. It's just weird how RA and SS cores handle this differently.

As for the 8BitDo Retro Receiver, I created a thread and documented the controllers I have used with it here:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/8bitdo-retro-receiver-for-gamecube.662180/

I bought it on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DB4NQ...6FC22YXSNEE9HMQ_3&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1

The dpad depends on the controller you use, but I have not experienced any greater lag using this receiver than with any other bluetooth connection. I'd recommend this device if you already have bluetooth controllers lying around, as it does make controlling games a better experience than having to use either a wired GC controller or a Classic Controller tethered to a Wii remote in your lap.

For Sega CD logos, I would go for Batman Returns and Silpheed.

Will there be alt versions of the forwarder for Mega CD for those of us outside the US? Same with 32X and Mega Drive (if there is a standalone emulator and forwarder for this,I am not sure)?

I was wondering if there is a chance we could get the FBNeo core on regular 1.7.6 retroarch.
Hexaeco is really good but I miss the remap configs as I use SNES, NES, wiimote and Arcade 8bitdo controllers.

Yes, both Sega/Mega CD have forwarders. I had a few different games selected for Mega CD forwarder since they were not released in Pal territories. Lunar and Dark Wizard come to mind but i think they are playable through emulation? I know the Pal games work for me in NTSC--USA. If you could give me a list of preferred game logos for the Mega CD, those will certainly be used.

The Sega 32X forwarder(s) , are there game logos included that weren't released in Europe?

As for Genesis/Mega Drive, yes i plan on changing the fronts with respective logos. Same thing for animated start screen, respective logos will replace the Sega logo in bottom right corner. The music and disney characters will remain the same but a few game logos need to be replaced, Castlevania comes to mind.

Cool, thanks for making the Mega CD forwarder; I will definitely use that :)

I am happy with whatever Mega CD logos you choose for games that were released worldwide (or US and PAL) If you want to add any PAL-exclusive logos, here is a list for both the Mega CD and 32X from Wikipedia:

Mega CD PAL exclusives:
Bloodshot
Marko's Magic Football
The Smurfs
Syndicate

32X PAL exclusives:
Darxide
FIFA Soccer 96

I've checked the current 32X forwarder I am using (with the red 32X logo on the animated start screen), and I see that of the logos used, only Tempo was not released in PAL territories. On a side note, I think the 32X in PAL territories was called the Sega Mega Drive 32X, based on box art images I have found online. Could this be updated for the PAL version of the forwarder, please?

So Mega CD ended up getting along with the logos mentioned...Silpheed, Batman Returns, Keio Flying Squadron, Earthworm Jim SE.

Removing Tempo from 32X would you rather have FIFA 96 or Blackthorne?

Updates and adds are both up for new setups and Wii forwarders. vWii forwarders will be coming later this evening...

Amstrad - forwarders updated
Sega 32X - Pal forwarders added
Sega / Mega CD - setups & forwarders released
Sega-1000 - forwarders updated
Sega Genesis / Mega Drive setups & forwarders released. ***Note***These are for RA & SS-Hexaeco only, meaning the original Sega forwarders are still available but they can co-exist.

Here are the alternative Pal icons, rename to icon.png and replace the NTSC icons in the apps/ra- folders.

Let me know what you think of the CD forwarder(s), should i remove Sonic or do you like it???
Post automatically merged:

@Charco
How do these look, would you rather have this color tone? I think the quality is better but Mega 32X images are tough to find. I could make it from scratch if i knew the correct font for the 32X, then i could manipulate.

Edit one last time:)

I tried purple, yellow, sega blue, convinced sonic blue is better than the others so Mega 32X forwarders are final. I have tested these with vWii and all is good. The vWii forwarders will be up tomorrow, it is getting late for me so the vWii uploads will have to wait until then. The Wii forwarders are all up for download.
