Hi there friends, i recently got a comment on my YouTube asking about the PGM game Demon Front.

And yeah, currently this doesn't work on the current builds of FBA2012 for PGM driver only but a few years ago, someone fixed the problem of some PGM games not loading on big-endian systems, including the Wii and Wii U.

But this was from FBNeo, so i took some time to backport this fix to FBAlpha PGM for Wii (thanks to @Wiimpathy for providing the source code for the PGM and Psikyo cores).

Soon i will recompile a new FBA2012 PGM core, as i also resynced to last updates of Libretro FBAlpha2012 and also added to this branch Wiimpathy's changes for add building PGM and Psikyo cores only.

@cheloruiz79 , if you're kind, when i get with the new build, could you try with your games that u said earlier that didn't work? Thanks.

I would genuinely be interested if the Wii can play Demon Front well or not, though I don't really expect much. The game it probably would be able to play full speed is Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou since I believe it doesn't utilize an ARM chip, along with some other, earlier PGM games that mostly used a 68000 for graphics and logic

Unfortunately i tried playing Demon Front on Wii and it's still not working, even with my changes.

The Wii is NOT powerful enough for handle many ARM processes at the same time.

@Wiimpathy already said that if a game crashes even with VM, it's more likely that the game is way too complex for run on the Wii and can even crash due to low processing power.

Haven't tested other PGM games though, however i still have plans to release a build with said changes.

It would definitely still be worthwhile for games like Knights of Valour which I believe should work

How do I add a game list?

Because there is no playlist for setting options!

The original retroarch can be found with added game titles

But I like RetroArch-Hexaeco!

Sorry...my English is not good

Thanks

Was hoping someone would chime in but i'll do my best.

I do not believe adding playlist is possible or even an option. You must understand the Wii is not current, this is a 20 year old machine on life support.

Download then install. play = happy.

Actually, I haven’t played WII for a long time.

I just searched for a long time but no answer.

Thank you for your reply.

How (un)Stable is RA 1.19.1?
What you would expect from RA:)

The good...
PCE SGFX
PCE Fast
Atari 5200
O2em
Game & Watch

All are "Better" or equal to anything else the Wii has to offer.

Not so good...
Atari 800 has save but no audio BUT i found 1.17.0 has both and is stable with no crashes in tests.

MAME 2000 i thought was fine, plus it loads multiple games in succession (1.17.0 does as well) but the more i tested, i realizeed the 1.7.6 recompile by @SaulFabre is superior.

Meh...
Neo Pocket seems fine but nothing new here (1.16.0)
BlueMSX also fine but nothing new (1.14.0)
Pokemini the same, solid but nothing new (1.16.0)
fMSX the same as the others above (1.10.1)
GearColeco still fine nothing new (1.16.0)
Mednafen Lynx working fine but waiting for it to start crashing like it always does (1.14.0)

The issues...
Nestopia takes a huge step backwards (1.16.0)
Atari 2600 is now unstable (1.10.1 or 1.16.0)
Atari 7800 is now unstable. (1.10.1 or 1.16.0)
ECWolf still crashing (1.14.0)
FCEUmm is still unstable (1.10.1 or 1.10.3)
Gambatte is still no good (stick with 1.10.1)
Gearboy is still unstable
GearSystem is sill unstable
Sega GX is still broken (1.8.8 GX 1.10.3 Wide)
ZX Spectrum controls are a mess (1.8.8)
Vectrex controls are a mess (Please Fix Me)
INTV controls are a mess (1.8.8)

(Last stable cores i use above^^^^^^^)

Other cores not mentioned are either fine but nothing improved or untested.

I have not tested all RA releases/cores thoroughly but have my opinion of which releases are best. In order from Best to Worthy...

1.10.1 - Best "current" release no question
1.16.0 - Many dependable cores here
1.10.3 - So close but always finds a way to fail
1.14.0 - A few solid cores other releases lack
1.19.1 - Worth using and testing more

SS-Hexaeco FBNeo is released...

https://www.mediafire.com/file/aqzadpdti0xxak0/SS-FBNEO.zip/file

------

The forwarder channels are available here...

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/kup4smqh4aw45/RunningSnakes_Forwarders

------

I included the FBNEO-CPS1 core along with the main FBNEO core. The CPS1 core only plays 3 games but Cadillacs & Dinosaurs needs this core, so it was indeed added. I also updated and added the compatibility list with the setup download.

Attached is my complete pack of Wii Arcade compatibility lists updated...

These FBNEO cores are not compatible with MAME roms. If you take a look at the compatibility list included you will notice only 1 arcade game "20pacgal" is supported, the rest are Cave, CPS1 and CPS2 games.

Many of the older FBA roms will work perfectly fine but some (Armored Warriors, Hotdog Storm etc...) will need the updated FBNEO roms. The main reason for this release imo is Armored Warriors, Carrier Air Wing, Forgotten Worlds can be played properly and patched roms are supported (at least patched Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is confirmed).

The compatibility is not perfect (The Punisher is not working) but the cores are stable with nice features and as mentioned above, the FBNEO core plays a few titles better than anything else available.

thanks for your reply, so that means for a majority of other cases, using the mame cores A-F, or CPS-I, CPS-II, etc
