Wanted to replace my 1TB internal HDD with a 4TB SSD

Fresh reboot, no hen running or anything
Used the built in back up utility. Took approx 5.5 hours to backup a the filled 1TB internal to an external USB (WAY faster than the ps3... god that thing would take like 3 days to backup a 1TB)
Popped in new SSD
Booted and asked right away to insert a FW USB stick. Did so with 9.0 on it
Boot and skipped all initial setup options.
Ran restore from backup HDD to internal SSD. Took approx 5.5 hours
Rebooted EXACTLY how I had it before EXCEPT:
- The cached user guide was wiped, needed to recache it from my ESP
- My 2X legit PSN games were locked (this is due to NEEDING to sign into the PSN network) I dont care about them as I already transferred them to my PS5
- Trophies (again, dont care as they are already transfered to the Ps5)

All fake signed packages save games worked just fine.

So for anyone looking to upgrade the HDD and just transfer over all the data and not care about going online but want to keep all their folders etc, this is a totally great way to do it!

I did exactly as you described. Transfered 500gb to 1tb SSD. Games are fine, save files too. However i decided to backup all trophy. And restored them via FTP sucessfully
