    Hey.
    I forgot the name of the software I used in the past to get data back.

    Recently I deleted loads of things from my rarely used german version toshiba satellite.
    Didnt formatted the harddrive.
    I deleted a folder, containing my old pics and homemade videos.

    Which programm should I use to get the data back?

    I have an external drive wher I can install the software and get data back from the laptops harddrive.
    (it would be more than to much though... and my external drive is only 500 gigs, 300 filled with data.)

    or do I have to buy it?

    never used it. I had one pre-installed in my system. something with data....

    Any tutarials how to use this one?

    Should I installed in the harddrive that needs to be restored or in the external one?

    Nope just install it on your main partition like all other programs. Then make it search for data on your external.

    I'd use photorec (GPL)

    I've heard good things about Recuva by Piriform.

    You can get a portable version of it too.

    With getdataback after 2 hours of progress got only 1 vidoe and few pictures back.. and they were damaged. The video wasnt playable and the pictures middle/top/bottom part were missing...
