SEGA seems to be continuing their plans to port more of their older catalog of games to the PC platform, according to a new USK board rating. The 2010 PS3 and Xbox 360 title Resonance of Fate might be making its way to the PlayStation 4 and PC soon, as Germany's ratings board leaked both. With a current-gen remaster potentially on the way, it could also mean developer Tri-Ace might have something up their sleeves for the series, as they plan to announce a brand new game during TGS, on the 20th. SEGA's most recent PC port was Yakuza 0, which was met with high sales, but mixed reviews in regards to the quality of the port.

Resonance of Fate is a real-time tactical RPG, with "cinematic" elements. It released to mild praise when it launched, and currently sits at a 74% MetaCritic rating.

I really do love Resonance of Fate. It is one of the three games I had on the 360 that allowed me to enjoy such things (Eternal Sonata and MagnaCarta 2 being the other two) after burning out during the PS2 era.

It can take a while for some to have the combat mechanics click but once you start getting those crystals to do more runs in combat it becomes one of the most satisfying combat setups I have ever used. Story, worldbuilding and such ain't bad either.

If they are going to properly polish it up for such a release I would love that. Otherwise I will happily take a PC version and see what the modding community can do.

Jeez, @Chary seems to want all the news to herself this morning  . Nice to see more 360/PS3 games getting modern ports, though. Good console ports haven't historically been a thing (generally and VERY broadly speaking) until kinda recently.

I think we might be in for a double-feature.

Me too it was a very unique battle system and world map for a JRPG, that I think deserved higher ratings.
Wish it was coming to Switch too though!

Indeed. I think 2017 was the first year porting and remastering really became a trend. Remasters are a great way to preserve good games, but I really hope it isn't going to become a wave similar to indie games and pixel art. I really don't need now also the catalog of AA and AAA game companies to be flooded with cheaply produced products in form of remasters or even worse straight ports. If I want to drown in a sea of games only produced for a few quick bucks, I start steam and don't read the release lists of AA/AAA studios and publishers.

I loved this game! The battle mechanics, ridiculous customization on the guns and Story of the game was very unique. Tri Ace always have unique taste in their games.

I hate and love this game. I could never finish it because the difficulty spiked so hard at some point that it literally blew my pants off.

Mostly great soundtrack by the way. I have the OST sitting on my shelf.

Resonance of Fate, or End of Eternity as it is called in Japan, was one of these last experimental JRPG I have seen since then. Nowadays it's rather rare to see those, it's more of the same. Baten Kaitos 3 where are you?

Chary, it should be noted it was pointed out that Tri-Ace themselves are self publishing this.

They probably got Sega's ok, but are doing it themselves. (Ie. taking the financial risk)
