Resident Evil 4 voice actor reportedly breaks NDA, shares concept art for unannounced RE4 remake

re4.png

Capcom just released a remake of Resident Evil 4 for VR devices, but that might not be the only version of RE4 we'll be seeing in the near future. The voice actor of Albert Wesker, D.C. Douglas, may have spoiled the existence of an upcoming, more traditional remake of Resident Evil 4 for modern platforms. An alleged image shows Douglas uploading concept art of Wesker for Resident Evil 4's Separate Ways content, which he also claimed to be doing the remake voicework for during a livestream. According to some chatlogs shared by those who were in contact with Douglas, he was knowingly breaking an NDA by sharing the image.

6 years from now be like "Resident Evil 4 Remake now available on PS6, Xbox Two and Switch Super".

12 years from now be like "Resident Evil 4 Remake now available on PS7, Windows Console and Nintendo Phone".
"Xbox Two" :P

That's what we said when Xbox One was current gen, now it's Xbox Series S and X.

Microsoft makes it impossible for anyone to tell what it's gonna be called.

Congratulations on your brief career in videogames, D.C. Douglas. Good luck getting anyone in corporate America to ever trust you again or sign a contract with you.

Admittedly, he did something tremendously moronic, but he's talented in more than one way so he'll probably be fine.

Most people you see and hear on TV can't be trusted, they'll lie and even backstab if they see you as a threat to their career or envy you.

He might not be doing anything legally wrong here. The last few Resident Evil games have used non-union talent, that's why Matthew Mercer and Alyson Court haven't returned. If the RE4 remake follows this trend they were gonna recast Wesker anyway. So he probably doesn't have any current contract with Capcom.

Why? the game is perfect as it is.
Nothing is perfect. All I want to see, personally, is upgraded graphics (mainly textures). Original textures are muddy af. I don't want a remake, per sé, but a remaster.

it looks like a 5 year old using ms paint to drop weskers game face texture onto a sketch
1. No it doesn't
2. It's /concept/ art, not a releasable product

right first off, calm down karen.

you miss the part where i said sketch?

as for weskers face, you say redesigned, well id hate to tell you this, but that face texture has basically taken albert weskers face image and poorly dropped it on top of that sketch, you clearly do not know your RE games if you think that face looks more like CSI Miami than it does Albert Wesker, when this has been his appearance since Rebirth.

and you literally took the 5 year old bit too seriously karen, I'm simply pointing out how poor it looks, its as if some little kid has cut out weskers face off an image, then dropped it onto a sketch, as you say, the anatomy?, well the face position doesn't meet the shape of the head and its position, the color doesn't even match.

concept art is usually in the form of a quick sketch, or a detailed sketch or a render, cant say i have ever seen a concept art that is a detailed sketch then poorly copy pasted a face off a different image, care to look at the glasses, even face doesn't fit.

but all the guy has done is confirm he is doing the voice for wesker in Separate Ways, a mode already in RE4, so how it jumps to the conclusion of a RE4 remake and not again another cash cow port with a new character added into it, also why would capcom send concept art off to the actor if its to be kept under lock and key, usually keep shit under wraps in house.

but hey, if i am wrong, then so be it, but it looks really shit, literally like someone has taken a pre existing image of wesker and cut his face off and dropped it onto a sketch.

and be more positive for what? a remake or port of a game that wasn't even that great, but has been milked to death.

just saying for concept art, it looks more like fan made concept
What a man child you are my friend first off get over yourself to me for concept art the face looks fine and in place again it's not meant to be a finished product hell the left drawing in the image is further in than the right drawing and honestly for all the smack your talking about it I'd love to see you do any better concept art is made to get the basic blueprint down its not there to look pretty or amuse a consumer infact it's not meant for our eyes in the first place all things considered it looks much better than some concept art out there you would know this if you had looked at any other piece of concept art in your life ...have a good day sir spider

Lol another karen.

For one I have not said anything about it having to be a perfect image or what a concept art is.

Dont read into whats not been said.

Simply put that its hard to see someone doing a concept art then copy pasting a poorly cut image of wesker face, when theyd roughly draw it like the rest of the image.

Dont get all upset over spilt milk, the other guy claiming it looks nothing like wesker and more like the guy from csi.... you can clearly tell its a copy pasted texture of wesker face since re0.

Id take this art with a pinch of salt, firstly voice actors wouldn't be in the position to have concept art from the design team, as capcom will keep its details under lock and key, voice actors dont even meet anyone in the graphic department.

Actors end up in a recording studio and or, room if they're picked to do its mo cap if that's what they're using.

I think its fans looking into whats not there, and I hope to god the news of a re4 remake is false.

Its likely a new character added to its existing game mode as they port it yet again.

Also, since when do we see wesker wearing a normal suite and not his umbrella like outfit enhancing his special powers.

Anyway ill leave it be, not going to argue with snowflakes acting so angry over nothing.

Voice actors dont get to see concept art are you mental? Getting concept art is a big part of developing your characters voice that plus a description of their personality Charles martinet was shown a picture of mario and given a description of him before coming up with the kid friendly Italian voice in his trial ...it's common for both video game character creators and cartoon character creators to give the voice actor every bit of detail so they can come up with the best voice p.s. I don't see how that face is copy and pasted over the image it's just the image on the left is more detailed than the image on the right Mr. Snowflake
