ROM Hack Question Request - Replacing Nabbit with Mario in NSMBUD (In Super Luigi U)

I've been trying to replace Nabbit with Mario when playing Super Luigi U.

I can use this code found on the EdiZon Github page to successfully play as Mario:

[Start as Mario]

78000000 0002A1C8
61000000 00000000 00000000

This works great for single player but doesn't work in multiplayer as Luigi becomes invisible and unusable after the character select screen. I guess I need a similar code which replaces player 4 with Mario.

I can't seem to find any RomHacks which achieve similar results, does anyone know how I might achieve this?
