how about, if that rumor about twilght princess coming to n3ds is true, that we just wait for the twilighthack to be ported to it? because that way we get the real homebrew channel with the bubbles.

right guys?

Yeah....I mean what the fuck is the point in jumping the gun and assuming there will be an exploit for TP, damn game not even released for 3ds

It been a few days since the big release, and Gateway Team is busy working out the remaining bugs and polishing off the next release, but this time around they are requesting a bit of help to insure full Zelda v1.1 compatibility with their next beta release.

They added also for those a little more tech-savvy the following note:

So there you go, if the community can get together now and follow the above easy steps and send them the truncated ROM's and fresh saves for those problematic newer Zelda cartridges in the various regions, the quicker you will see the next official Gateway Ultra release posted.
Wait, what is the source for this? There is nothing on gateway's website.

A few emails I traded with them in regard to the early issues of reports of problems with the release.

They thought it would be faster to get the message out to various forums, instead of just using their website, plus the person that updates the wordpress is not always available or around on most weekends.

Yeah, nothing but a link to 'official gateway support site' or maxconsole forums, which gary is the admin of.

Like it or not, OPA has a business relationship with gateway and that makes him a legit source for gateway things.

From a business perspective, they wouldn't want to put this on their homepage anyway. "The latest N3DS update we rushed out doesn't quite work yet" goes against the whole philosophy of rushing it out. They'd lose a few sales ;)

well lets face it why would he make it up, gateway would just get annoyed with them being spammed with rom links, pretty sure its a legit request, but how useful it will actually be to them....who knows afaik there was only a revision for the EU OOT, i suppose it might help find out if there was more than 1 revision and if other regions have revisions, lets face it the EU rev01 was only found out to exist years after the initial release....even with the blatant e-manual vs no manual difference, theoretically there could be completely unknown revisions that haven't been dumped yet as people didn't know to look for them, and if these revisions are much rarer it would make sense for gateway to get the word out that they are looking for these potential alternate revisions rather than buy 100 copies of zelda hoping to find it......im sure they would prefer that 100 copies to be in gateway users hands than their own

what is beta version? what does beta mean?

There are a few states in development:

Proof of concept - A prototype showing that the result aimed for is at least not impossible.
->Alpha state - Something to play around with, but lacking a lot of the final content.
->Beta state - Everything crucial is working, but might contain bugs that need to be patched before release. That's where some developers decide for a closed beta (only a selected range of people is allowed to test the program for bugs) or an open beta (the beta is made publicly available and users are told to report back bugs they find)
->Gold state - The bugs are fixed and the program is ready for its final release.

So, whenever you read "Beta" on something that isn't related to a failed kind of video tape (this is a different story), don't be a scumbag yelling "This is so unfinished, it's total crap!", because it is supposed to be unfinished and you are the one to change that by reporting bugs to the developers.
Though, a lot of video games are actually released while being in Beta state currently (Assassin's Creed Unity *cough*). If you find one, start a shitstorm and show them that this is unacceptable.^^

Okay, that last sentence was just my opinion. :D

Looks like lame request. OOT 1.1 was build with later version SDK with non-reversible encryption with card-unique key, so Gareway will never make it work. For 1.0 release (which uses repeat-ctr-fail vulnerable encryption) the only difference mayexist is a ROM manufacturer ID, which is used as encryption key.

Um. Yes. That is exactly what they should do. They charge money for their product and they should use that for their own R&D. I'll send them a dump of whatever they want if they send me a GW card gratis. Until then they can just piss off.
Why should they go hunting nonworking OOT3D carts when there is no need to and just getting a dump would be quicker? I would assume that would be in the best interest of the user base, as it would result in the problem getting fixed faster.

And trading a dump for a cart... lol, you're a funny guy :D
