Yeah you need a USB WiFi dongle. You can get the official Nintendo ones or use alternatives such as the ASUS WL-167g.

It will connect to your laptop via a USB 2.0 port.

No, you would need a USB adapter.

If your router has WEP encryption then you can connect your DS to your router.

Nope there's no way apart from buying a router or a dongle.

You have a wireless card on your laptop. The wireless card only picks up wireless signals, it does not emit them.

The DS needs something to emit them so that the DS can pick up the signal and connect to it.

That's why you either need a router or a USB dongle.

thnx for ur answer but i think my laptop's wifi emits signals since i made a wireless lan with my pocket pc.
So as we believe the ppc cannot emit signals, so the laptop did.
i'm searching for a homebrew or something to do the dongle's job for getting DS online.

OK, well I've read up and some wifi cards do emit signals. I think I read that on a thread on GBADev or something.

You can't play the DS online unless you have broadband, it doesn't matter if you have a dongle or not
