Is it possible (and feasible) to replace the glossy blue lid of the Blue/Black DS Lite with a matte one from a replacement shell without replacing the entire shell? I only want a matte black DS Lite, and don't want to have to replace 60% of my DS that's perfectly fine.

If you're gonna replace part of it, you might as well replace all of it. The stuff you buy on the internet isn't always 100% compatible with the original shell...your best bet is to just replace the whole thing.

It's quite possible that you could encounter incompatibilities.

It's quite possible that those incompatibilities can be fixed with some light filing.

It's quite possible that it fits perfectly.

I would say it's more than worth a try.
