I've got a cracked hinge... Like this one...

Nintendo of America says I can pay $55 for a replacement.

Or I could buy a replacement shell and do it myself for 20-35 dollars...

Are the ghost or shock shells good enough quality to go for them or should i just pay the 55?

Cool...
I'm glad to see like a real put-togeth product!

I'm confident enough - I can take apart computers, psps, and I have opened up some DS's...

So I should be good hopefully...

From your experience with the product - Is it a valid replacement for a DS with a cracked hinge?

Nintendo told me the same BS last year around the summer time, which pissed me off, so I had my wife call them again, and since my wife doesn't know much about this kind of stuff, she was able to get them to advance replace a refurbed ds lite to us, she just gave them a credit card number in case we did not send back the ds lite with the cracked hinge. It took about a week for us to get a replacement ds lite.
