You could get the GTX560 Ti, which offers excellent performance for a competitive price.

I have a 9800GT and I can run dolphin and all the latest games on high or very high. Mind you, they are only running at 1440x900, not 1080p, but still.

There's no point getting a good GPU if it will just bottleneck your PC, meaning that if you have a crappy CPU, and all that power from the GPU, the GPU's potential will be limited by the CPU.

If you have an ok processor, i would recommend a GTX570. It is not the best GPU out, but it's still up there so it wont be very pricey, but it will be an affordable price for such a great GPU.

Emulation depends on your CPU strength, not so much GPU strength. You won't see much performance gain in a GTX 560.
a good processor is needed for emulation like a intel sandy bridge processor
