I'm looking into replacing my SP's "Housing Case" I'm buying it dealextreme.

I'm getting a "Cross and Trigram Screw Drivers 2-piece Kit for NDS NDSL and Wii" from them as well.

How easy is it to replace? Any step-by-step guides?

    Thanks

P.S. I'm buying it in a few hours so a fast reply is a must!

I opened up my GBASP sometime ago, it was pretty simple to re-assemble it. Still, I only opened the lower part (I had to fix a fuse [IMG]), so I dunno about the difficulty of changing the upper part of the shell.

It's probably a lot more easy than doing something like that to a DS, so if you're confident you can do it, buy one. Do this only if you're certain about what you're doing (like how to manage electronic components) otherwise you might screw up your GBASP for real.

I've taken a GBA SP apart, and it's not too difficult. the screws for the bottom half are on the corners ans the battery compartment, and the screws for the top half are under the rubber bump things around the screen. That's all from memory, but it should be right.

you can find replacement shell on dealextreme. the only part of the gba sp that is hard to take out is the hinge pins. everything else is screwed in place.

Sorry 'bout that, I didn't want to be rude or something [IMG]
It's just that I've seen a lot of ten-years old kids around asking things like this and then complaining for a broken DS-Lite [IMG]
(Or in a similiar scenario, people who didn't have a clue about soldering a Wii modchip and that then screwed-up an entire drive [IMG] )

Better be safe, and explain things well [IMG]

Seeing that, then you're set, get one and good work [IMG]

Found something... try following only the first steps of this.
For the upper part, you're on your own [IMG]

DX isn't selling screens for the SP [IMG]

Does the "Drop Shipment and Gift Service (Removes DX logo from package)" from DX apply to all of my items or just one?

I think to open the top shell just take out those little rubber stoppers and you get to the screws.

Tip: If you want to take out the screen ribbon cable more easily, you can take off the plastic part attached to the bottom part (with the buttons) by a screw.

There's a couple more guides to getting the thing apart here and here. Normally you just pull little stoppers like that out / carefully pry them out with a screwdriver.
