Gaming replacement battery for 3ds charges for 5 seconds then stops?

Hello, I recently got a new battery for my new 3ds XML by the name of Tomee, I put it in, and plugged it into my 3ds, but the charging light only stayed on for 5 seconds and then stopped. The old battery does not do this. I am not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated.

Battery probably is bad or the voltage is too low.. Check the voltage of the new battery, if it's too low, the console thinks it's bad and will not charge it.
Where did you get the battery from btw?

You should get genuine one, you can get one from Nintendo of Japan but you have to import it using forwarder service such as tenso.

Alright thanks, one thing I noticed that's different than the stock one is that the new battery is 2500 mah while the stock one is 1750 mah. I have to check the voltage though.

You are better off getting genuine off, than some third party battery
