Hi.

So I swapped out my Switch's back panel with a 3rd party cover, which I've done twice before. When I put it back, I noticed my PC could not detect the Switch in RCM. At some point 1/50 insertions, it gets detected as connected. If I am able to boot it, docking mode/charging does not work. It even caused a crash when I docked it one time.

I would like to ask, what caused the issue and is there a way to fix it?

I don't think so. Annoyingly, I haven't gotten it to detect RCM again since the crash recovery used an older bin file, which doesn't boot. I don't think the screw got into the USB-C port.

Did you wear anything that might have caused static electricity?

the whole back of the system is covered with the heatspreader rf shield, there is nowhere to touch that would fry the USB C port as it is all covered with metal. The only exposed parts are the two joycon rail connectors and the SD card connector neither of which connect directly to the USB port.
