Hardware Replace N3DS XL screens with 3DS XL screens

Don't you have to wait a min 7 days before you can do another transfer.

You can't transfer new3ds to old 3ds, that's the issue, maybe the OP. Can just try leaving his system on for a few days to see if it alleviates his issue

EDIT - I do remember Nintendo saying something like that or I read it online somewhere. Well OP COULD call Nintendo and say he lost it and they can do the transfer on his end....but that will take a few days.

Probably incase someone buys a bunch of new3ds exclusives then transfers to a old 3ds and cries that they loose them........idk but pretty sure I read it's a one way transfer to the new 3ds

That's disappointing to hear. I guess I have to deal with it or use my old XL. Too bad I already completed the system transfer and can't transfer back.

I don't think there's anything to worry about. Now that other people have mentioned it, I remember hearing of this issue with fresh glue causing screens to have a yellow tint before and everything I've heard supports the statement that it will go away after a few days.

Hmm this is still a rather interesting question whether or not the LCD Panels can be swapped, I don't see why not? While there are new features of the N3DS a lot of them sound software based and not hardware. So let's find out...?

Update!

And the verdict is NO they are actually not interchangeable sadly. It seems they are actually different panels and the connector for the 3D part is different as well. Also it's a bit of a pita to remove the LCDs they are adhered to the frame a bit.

The two side by side top and bottom without motherbaords.



The 3DS XL back light and 3D connector (I assume since the other large connector seems to be connected to the panel directly)



And the N3DS connector for the backlight and 3D.



Well that was fun and educational now to throw them back together. Remember if you are going to attempt something, take pictures and share with us

PS: don't follow iFixit with their "prying apart the two halves of the top case." after removing the four screws, the top part actually slides a little bit then it comes right off.

Considering n3ds and n3dsxl screens are different sizes.... I don't think so. Strange my old 3DS has the yellow tint and my new one doesn't. I never noticed this!

Okay so interestingly enough the 3DSXL and N3DSXL have the same panel size.
