Hacking Renaming roms?

if i rename a ROM will it still work? some are like xpa-(initials of game) and i'd like to rename them so i know what game they are, will they still play if i do this?

Of course they will still work. Just rename the save to the same name as the ROM or else you won't be able to use the save.

xpa stands for Xenophobia. A ROM Release group.

One more thing about renaming, if you've already played the ROM on your R4 and have a save file generated, make sure to rename the save file to the same name as what you named the ROM.

As far as I know, that only works with homebrew. If you try to launch a commercial nds game throught the middle icon, it will not work.

Except the on the fly patching that games need doesn't initialize, so games won't run properly.

You have to put the rom at of the root of your card ,and yes default.nds will work.
