Renaming Fonts

So i've downloaded a fair few fonts, but the thing is, they always have rondom names i can't remember, so i was wondering, is there a way to rename them so that in aplications like Microsoft Word, it'll apear as say 'Nintendo' instead of 'Pretendo'??

I think you can't just rename them like a normal file, because the author has "coded" the name in the font. You need a font editing program I guess.
I'm not sure about that, so wait for some other replies ^^"

caoimhin is right. there are several font editors that will allow you to change the name and the font itself. i dont remember off the top of my head, but a search of cnet or google should turn up results.
