I cant even play regular games that I bought on my 4.2E wii, it asks me to update and it says if unauthorised software is found on the wii it can make the wii inoperative.

I used the completesoftmod guide (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901) and i installed everything apart from the usb loaders and the disc backup launchers

i have a black wii, how can i remove the softmod so that i can update to 4.2e again and can play normal games sfely...am I screwed or is this possible?

You don't need to remove the softmod. Just use Priiloader or StartPatch to Block Disc Updates

What, the guide in the topic, or the one it links to (my sig)?

Either way, they end up the same, so the fix is the same [IMG]

    You can do 2 things:
    * Like above, Install Priiloader/StartPatch to block the updates
    * Run the game with Gecko OS and let it install the Essential part of the update, nothing else

Both methods are safe. On top of that, don't worry too much about that "Unauthorized software" thinghy, it won't do anything bad [IMG]

Seeing your region (UK), these are the hacks for your hacks.ini. Block Disc Updates is the one you'll want.
