A happy resolution to a problem which should have never existed in the first place.

Going to agree with him. It was a stupid thing to do and shouldn't have been done in the first place.
    Glad they removed it.

Apparently they had to go through some lengthy German law process before this was approved though, so it probably couldn't really have been done faster. Anyway, it's good to see the stupid restriction gone (and the Germans making some sense).

There's something called forward planning. When Ninty were developing the eshop, someone at Ninty should have put some work into whether there were potential problems regarding distribution. And than get the ball rolling before release. Overall it's farcical such an arbitrary limitation was placed upon users.

Now all that's left is to remove the region lock (and decrease prices of downloadable retail games).

This was only approved because the parental controls were good enough to act as a substitute according to the message. If they wanted to test this beforehand, the organization that does these tests would have had to have early access to WiiUs and have them online to test that part. Basically, the WiiU should be completely finished, only to wait 3 months or whatever with releasing it for these guys to give them a thumbs up. IMO the Germans should just remove this law altogether.

It's really hard to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt here. It's pretty apparent when it comes to the internet, Ninty are pretty incompetent. It really wouldn't surprise me if no one at NoE realised these German laws existed until it was too late. Even than it is relatively well known Germany are pretty "over protective," regarding adult material. Instead these arbitary limitations have taken down several months after release and reinforce the stigma that Ninty can't do digital distribution.

Sales must be low. Keep it cheap and free of course maintaining maturity to their rightful audience.

Nintendo only sets the price of their games, AFAIK.

So go around asking every other developer to do that too.

And there's reason for region locking too, but I wont get into that.

Yeah I wanted to try the ZombiU demo for ages but kept forgetting to go on the eShop during the uncensored hours. It was really fucking annoying and should never have been that way.
