Klonoa Door to Phantomile was released on the Playstation 1 and I loved it. Now it's being remade for the Wii with 3D cell shaded graphics (2D gameplay) and NES-style controls with the Wiimote!

Did anyone else love this brilliant but overlooked 2D platformer besides me?

Oh and it's coming to Japan on December 4th!

The first one on the PS1 was spectacular! It had 2d character sprites inserted into a 3d world. The gameplay was strictly sidescrolling and VERY refined and polished. This can only be awesome. Too bad I don't have a Wii at the moment. I'll have to go dust off my old PS1 version and have a go again! [IMG]

I think most of the main series was released over here:

    Klonoa Door to Phantomile (PS1)
    Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil (PS2)
    Klonoa Empire of Dreams (GBA)
Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament (GBA)

There were 3 obscure Klonoa games that never made it over here:

Klonoa Heroes (GBA) - kind of an RPG
    Klonoa Beach Volleyball (PS1)
Kaze no Klonoa: Moonlight Museum (Wonderswan) supposedly it's the similar to Empire of Dreams

I never finished the first Klonoa back in the PSX days, I'll hopefully finish this one.

Never played Klona either but he and his rival are big characters in Namco x Capcom. I'm interested in picking this one up.

I've loved all the Klonoa platform games (not played the volleyball one and the RPG one was only in English), so this pleases me somewhat my only problem is that its yet another remake. I don't really see it doing well but its nice that Namco haven't killed the character off.

I totally loved the two gba-Klonoa games I`ve played (the only two I played). So I`m really thrilled to play a KLonoa game, I haven`t played yet...

Klonoa was one of my favorite platformers on PS1 and PS2. I'm definitely buying this when it comes out for Wii.

    Heh, looks nice.
Though I found the GBA ones to be dead boring.
The puzzle element just isn't fast enough or challenging enough for me.
Of course I know a good solid game when I see one.
It'll definitely pick up the 2D loving gamers still not into Megaman9.

Though you know, I did kinda like the top down GBA Klonoa game, it was more of a shooter though and never made it out of Japan but It was a nice departure from the basic gameplay.
    That and guns.

Behind you! I know you looked!
YAY, the GBA and PS2 versions were pretty good, and the Wii suits this kind of game well. Looking forward to this one!

And they gave him his redesigned look too [IMG]. Those yellow cat eyes always freaked me out.

I just remember how sad the ending was. This game is great, I think I'll go play it right now. [IMG]
