Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

okay I'm starting to get pissed t'f off how in the hell do I get the firmware.bin file for OLD 3ds/2ds I did the cdn.py thing and got a firmware.bin for the 3.0 nightly build but is this the right one or not. I read somewhere that the cdn.py was missing files or something but can someone pls help me. or send me the file through my messages here pls. bout ready to through this shit to the fan and get a sky3ds instead

If you're using beta 2 there should be 2 cdn_firm.py one called n3ds and the other o3ds. In your case using the o3ds should have given you a firm folder like this: http://i.imgur.com/p5Ihf7Z.png which you must place into rxtools folder, that's all there is to it.

u mean 3.0 beta 2 or 2.0 beta and which rxtools folder and do I just place the folder in whichever rxtools folder like rxtool/firm or do I do rxtools/the .bin files. thanks u actually help me figure this out XD also does this build work for rxtools good or does it crash alot

Most people recommend using a stable build if you are not interested in having the latest updates all the time. I believe the Beta 2 is considered a stable build, so maybe you should try that one first.

Although, it really isn't a big deal which one you choose; if one doesn't seem to work for you then you can simply try another build.

Adding to the answer also always make sure to backup your emunand and SD before changing your CFW files in case you mess up somewhere so you don't lose anything.

oh yeah it's up now..

I prefer using Nightly build because it has more bug fix than beta..

So, the fw 10.6 update is up now, any changes for rxtools for o3ds?

No you can't just copy/paste it because Emunand is located in a hidden partition. Lookup EmunandTool here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-release-and-support-thread.359239/

It's a PC program that allows you to extract your Emunand and store it safely. Then you can inject it back if something nasty happens

At some point games changed their encryption keys for saving (around 5.x or 6.x don't remember), so when people have lets say a 4.x sysnand and a 10.x emunand the keys don't match causing games to not recognize the saves and thus corrupting/deleting them. This slotkey allows to keep the saves working for those people.
The key can't be shared here so you must google it, it's not hard to find though.

Okay I'm getting a new 2ds from gamestop brand new next week and the firmware should be 6.0 so I will have to use it what does this do and will there be a build that works for 10.6 since Nintendo has updated the firmware. like a new 3.0 or 3.1 rxtools build to run 10.6

The 10.6 update basically only patched the BrowserHax exploit. You will not be able to use that entry point in emuNand unless you downgrade the Internet Browser to an earlier version.
