When i use rx emunand and set a theme then the same theme is on my sysnand and vice versa. I made a folder on my sysnand and called it system but the same folder appears in my emunand. Is that happening because nand and sysnand are linked? If so what can i do? Thanks

It does count. But only in Gateway mode since the installed ticket is not legit. If you don't really use rxMode aside from doing that update, it won't matter for you.

I managed to get linked emunand and sysnand to use different theme (and even different internet profile), but I don't quite remember the steps
I think it involved something like setup theme in sysnand and emunand, and afterwards restore nand backup of either (I did both sysnand and emunand though)
in the SD card, there is only 1 directory with random number, so that means it still linked right? but they now have different themes now
these steps not guaranteed to work on everyone though, might be just a glitch that happened on my 3DS

I Have read somewhere that you must format emunand and do some other steps but i cannot find the steps

no, that would unlink your emunand, unless that's what you want though
but for sure, having unlinked emunand means that you can have different themes easily

Actual benifici ... I have no idea; I use the emunand unlinked to have two different, excuse the term, "desktop" so they are always safe to run under emunand or under sysnand.

I don't think this is the proper thread to discuss it, but for me
linked: purchase games from emunand eshop and use it on sysnand
unlinked: no worries about sharing internet profile and accidentally have your sysnand download updates (but in my case, I already have different internet profiles for both), no gift unwrapping

The benefits of linked emunand is that you can download updates for games, But not much else.
You can unlink them by formatting one of them.

I actually found the gift unwrapping thing helpful since you can never ever go wrong at guessing if you're on sysnand or emunand.

If you have any doubt between linked or unlinked, I strongly recommend keeping them linked - you can't go back after choosing to unlink them.

You can if you have a NAND backup that was made before you unlinked them.

Nope. Which is kind of a bummer, because I have an SD card that I no longer want EmuNAND on and I can't get the partition off

You can get the partition off.

1. Insert SD card into PC.
2. If you're on windows, press "WindowsKey" + "R", this will open the "Run" program. Type in "diskpart", then run it. Make sure it's ran under admin.
3. Type "list disk". Press Enter
4. Look at the disk sizes - make sure the one that matches your SD card, is there.
5. Type "select disk <disk number>". Press Enter
6. Type "clean". Press Enter
7. Type "create partition primary". Press Enter
8. Type "exit".
9. Go to "Computer" and format the SD card.

DONE! YOU HAVE A WHOLE SD CARD, AGAIN!

The Offset (NCSD) from emuNAND is important to detect it, if the Offset is shifted, report your Offset to roxas so he can add it.

Im at work right now as soon as I get home will check the offset and report, maybe something got screwed during the process, I don't know, anyway will repeat whole process as I want it qworking but before will report the offset, should I report it here or directly to roxas?

You can't install .cia archives in rxMode at this time. Support for installing them is to be added shortly, but only homebrew stuff and select proprietary software like SaveDataFiler. No ROMs.

There hasnt been an mt card update in almost a year now, so I wouldn't hold my breath for that

About transferring tickets, I'm going to transfer my emuNand ticket.db to my sysNAND and just want to double check, thats all that is needed right?
We don't need to transfer movable.sed as well?

If the sysNAND and emuNAND are linked all you need is the ticket.db
If they're unlinked, no idea if it will work. Some people say yes, others say no.

But you won't need to transfer the movable.sed either way.

Thanks! and yup both my SYS and SMU are linked so just the ticket.db is need.
