it's not, no. there's a third toolchain called ps4sdk. afaik, those are the only three. open orbis seems to be the most used, but that update you mentioned was mentioned to me on their github when several people had issues compiling the samples. it's because it wasn't set up to use newer llvm, but this update fixes that. I had to use llvm either 9 or 10 when the latest, at least a month or two ago, was llvm 11.

if you don't have the environmental variable setup for the app you're trying to compile, it will mention was environmental variable it's looking for. I think it's part of the make file, so you can tell which toolchain the app uses.

That makes it abit more manageable. Still I cant see it staying 3 Toolchains.. It was the same with the Switch in the beginning, there was Libtransistor and Linbx, eventually Libnx became the main.

It's still not possible to compile Retroarch?

I had planned to write a tutorial on installing the toolchains. I have open orbis working, just need to update it. also have orbisdev working with both docker and standalone. if I can figure out ps4sdk, then I can write the tutorial. lighningmods has been a tremendous help, since I'm still an amateur at linux.

I dont know.. you could try and ask OsirisX? they havent been active here for a while tho, perhaps on twitter or discord?
I tried asking on an sdk github. there seems to be no "issues" tab for retroarch, not sure why unless it's no longer being maintained.

I originally was trying to build the homebrew store using open orbis as that was the only toolchain I knew of, so I asked lightning mods about it. he said it used orbisdev and invited me to his discord. I'm on there right now. :) anyway, that's how I found out other toolchains, and that each app uses a specific one with open orbis seeming to be the most often used.

I think your only chance for PS4 RA is to wait it out :/ you could still write a tut, just concentrate on the other 2, then if in the future you can figure out the ps4sdk problems your having you can amend your tut? :)

lightning mods told me that a new one (retroarch) was being done, I think with orbisdev. ps4sdk may no longer be used by the majority of apps could be the reason, so it may no longer be updated (not sure).

@ploggy , I updated openorbis, not sure if it's the normal way of doing it, but I deleted the old folder, then cloned the git back into the debian home folder. when I tried compiling one of the samples, I got an error, so I've opened an issue on their github page. I have the newer llvm installed as well as clang++, which I think it needs.
