Now I just need to figure out why PlaiCDN wont run as exe since I don't know how to use Python other than double clicking things like a pleb

Did you ever bother reading the rules about it? They are clearly spelled out for you on GitHub. Basically, no license in the repository = forbids you to use the code, whether the original coder intended it to be that way or not. You have the right to view and fork it (within GitHub), but you have no right to modify and distribute the modified code.

but even ticket.db is signed, isn't it? Otherwise, your (or this thread's) script could be modified to delete unwanted keys. Some people really want to buy games after trying, but eshop messes up because of the bad key already in ticket.db, if an ill gotten .cia was installed first.

Edit: Wait... now I confused myself again (happens a lot the older I get)... if it was signed, then it would have to be signed by our own 3DS, since it changes every time you install a new title. Why can't we delete keys again?

Did you even read the second part of your own quote?

Even if this is what you intend, if you publish your source code in a public repository on GitHub, you have accepted the Terms of Service which do allow other GitHub users some rights. Specifically, you allow others to view and FORK your repository within the GitHub site.

Emphasis mine.

Did you read what I wrote? I mentioned that SPECIFICALLY. And there is NOTHING that implies you have the right to modify and distribute.

You're being foolish. Sadly, ignorance of law wouldn't protect you if you truly pissed off the original author. I'm not hating on you at all; just trying to point out the facts.

If any of this code was acquired from a repo with no license, then @urherenow would be right. That being said, this project definitely stands on it's own without being a noticeable "fork" of anything else, so if this is the case, I do hope @Plailect can sort out these issues. I'm not sure if a "rewrite" of that specific portion of code could achieve this or not, but default copyright is a thing, which basically acts like a license, with no benefits to open source. I do think people should point out license issues, though aggression is unnecessary. Nobody wants a DMCA, or anything worse.

Thanks for the work @Plailect

I suppose fork does not mean edit in a legal sense so you'd be right on that one.

Doesn't matter though, since I did another diff (getting the tabs right this time) and none of it is Relys' code other than setting some variables and checking the length of a sys arg, which can't really be copyrighted.

I wouldn't worry about it, you furthered the theory from that reddit post, ergo you finished the combined efforts of everyone (good job!). It's a 3rd party tool to down games for your 3DS whilst it charges / trickle downloads some other game, not the cure for cancer.

People are taking the mick, copyright, on a script? On something that Nintendo would definitely not look kindly on! Jog on, I say.

Yeah, if anyone is suing anyone it'll be Nintendo suing all of us for using it, so it really is just semantics at this point.

tbh it seems like the whole thing just came from the fact people got all excited over a tool that has been available for months if not years just because someone spelt it out for them "i.e pirate shit from the nintendo servers" this has been available all along its just people were too ignorant to realize it.

tbh its good that people finally cottoned on and sure its a much more sensible solution, enough with the bickering now, people have their credits lets not try flamebaiting :P

heh, helluva alot better eh? Well, as Plailect said above, it isn't really the same thing, so apples to oranges really... however, assuming that they did perform similar actions, let's take a look at some other aspects, so sure simple CIA converter is easy to use, BUT it is old. Plain and simple. This may get "old" but it won't ever be in the state Simple CIA Converter is in, why? Simple, it's "open source" (quotes because it isn't licensed). Anyone can fix up an old script with minimal effort, whereas we'd have to disassemble the simple CIA converter, convert the assembly back into some language like C (or if you'd really like to deal with the ASM then go for it) then once all of that work is done, make changes and recompile... it simply isn't worth the effort. Not to mention that there's a lot of things that Riku's tool doesn't do properly, so while it might produce "Valid" results that work on your console, they will never be clean results without a lot of work, and Riku isn't interested in releasing his work anyways... anyways rant aside, enjoy the inferior, closed source tools, which have a different purpose than this :D
Out of curiosity, what are those things that Riku's tool doesn't do properly, and what kind of problems could it potentially cause?

This was just fixed with the latest Decrypt9 commit.
I have compiled it for you here: https://up1.ca/#e1NIvTbYh48Ca7_pLw-6gg

thanks... its working now... :-)
anyway, i need help again... i already decrepted the files on my 3ds... replaced the encypted files on the computer, then i pressed enter to build a cia...
but unfortunately my computer crashes...

how can i start making cia again with already decrypted files...
cuz the arguments:
-nodown = searches for encrypted files for hash (which is not equal cuz the files are already decrypted on 3ds)
-redec = searches for encrypted files for hash (which is not equal cuz the files are already decrypted on 3ds)

thanks and have a nice day...
