Any good threads on how to install hb-menu on my R4i Gold on my phat DS? I'm sort of new to this whole thing and I'd like to boot straight to hb-menu so that I can open pkmn-chest without having to boot my cart to YS menu, then load hb menu, then pkmn-chest lol.

HBMenu only supports autoboot on the original R4, EZFlash 5, DSTT, and Acekard 2(i) so it might not support your cart for autoboot... Could try just copying everything from its .tar.bz2 to your flashcard's SD's root and see if it works as I think your card is a DSTT clone since it supports YSMenu (maybe try copying TTMENU.DAT to R4.dat or _DS_MENU.DAT or whatever your card's got too)

Alternatively you could install TWiLight Menu++ which probably already has a working autoboot and would let you still play retail games if you want, HBMenu is homebrew only as devkitPro are extremely anti-piracy.

when i transferred a pokemon i hatched in gen 5 to gen 4 its nature changed
also their item vanishes

guess transferring to an older gen is buggy

Yeah, transferring to a newer generation should be guaranteed to produce the exact same result as doing so in game by official methods would, however transferring to an older generation, while it will try its best, cannot always do it perfectly as not everything existed in the older generations and such.

Hi, I have a Supercard DStwo and I wanted to use this app for my retail games, but I don't know how to do that. I hope for help. =)
If you're on DS/DS Lite for the GBA games you should be able to simply load pkmn-chest, put the GBA cart in, and load it from the first menu on opening.

For DS games it's a bit trickier since the flashcard and game card occupy the same space. If you're on a DSi/3DS I'd recommend modding it (DSi, 3DS) and running pkmn-chest from internal SD (or on 3DS PKSM) as that allows easy access to Slot-1, however it is possible to do it on DS/DS Lite too.

On DS/DS Lite you'll need to either use GodMode9i with a GBA cart or NDS Backup Tool with WEP Wi-Fi to dump the save, then you can load that save file from the SD card in pkmn-chest, then when you're done you can use either of those tools to restore it back to the cart. (GodMode9i is probably easier for the restore as it can do that with just the flashcard)

I tried moving a pokemon from firered to platinum it happens

This happens from gen 3 to gen 5 too

why is this happening?

I tried moving a pokemon from firered to platinum it happens

This happens from gen 3 to gen 5 too

why is this happening?
It seems I forgot to set the nature in the PK3 -> PK4 transfers so it was getting reset, I've opened FlagBrew/PKSM-Core#9 to fix that and attached a build with the latest commit from that PR as I won't be able to make a proper nightly build until that PR is merged.

It happens for PK3 -> PK5 as well since the way PKSM-Core does transfers it goes through every generation in between, not directly 3 -> 5.

Yeah, just use that and it should work correctly. I can send a CIA as well if preferred... Normally I would recommend PKSM instead on 3DS but this bug most likely affects it too.

This tool is still so unappreciated. Love it. Working on completing every dex. Finished gen 1, gen 2 and working on gen 3. Once I'm done catching gen 3 in sapphire, going to move to HG/SS to do Gen 4, then transfer up to gen 5 on my 2DS and this tool is going to make things so much easier to back everything up.

Hi because your PR fixes the bug on pksm-core, does it means that recompiling 3ds pksm with your patched core will produce a fixed pksm or is it more complicated than that? Thanks for your time and work

Yeah, it should or or less just work to update the core. If you get any errors from the getRandomPID() function just add pkm.shiny() and pkm.tsv() or so after pkm.abilityNumber().
