I'm using Windows 10 and everything is ok
Is there a future possibility of making more games compatible? I really wanted to play FE12 with the translation patch since my R4 was broken into pieces...
Other games SNES games worked great, btw!
Compatibility has nothing to do with Injectiine. Unfortunately, since FE12 was 'DSi enhanced', it will not work on the Wii U through injection. This is true for other 'DSi enhanced' titles such as Pokemon B&W as well. You can use the wiki for help on what will and won't work.
I just had a quick play with your injector to see if you have resolved the issue regarding injecting larger roms than the base VC issue. This is a known issue for those that do a lot of injects, which no one has found a solution.
SNES and NES are the only two consoles that have these issues, all other consoles don't have this issue.
Max rom size you can inject is 4mb (32MB Cart Size), this shouldn't be a problem, since your default selection of VC base roms are 4mb (32MB Cart Size), except for Super Mario Kart which is 512k (4MB Cart Size).
Lets say you selected Super Mario Kart as your VC base, and you go and inject a rom that is 1MB (8MB Cart Size), your injector script will bomb out.
Max rom size you can inject is 512k, the two default VC base rom selections you have are:
Punch-Out!! [EUR]: Rom size 128k.
Duck Hunt [EUR]: Rom size 24k.
NES Zapper Games:
Lets say I want to inject To The Earth, which is another Zapper game, this rom size is 64k, since Duck Hunt is 24k rom size, your injector script will bomb out.
At the moment the only NES Zapper game your going to successfully inject is Hogan's Alley, since this rom is 24k. Wild Gunman rom size is also 24k, but don't need to inject this game since it's officially released on the eShop.
Below are a few NES base VC's which are 512k that you can use to inject the larger NES game roms:
Zoda's Revenge Star Tropics II
People are not going to have much issues with NES injects, since most roms are under 512K in size, then you also got to consider the MAPPERS and if its V or H used for the NES games. On the eShop there is a lot of variety of official NES VC's released, you just need to cross reference what the MAPPERS and V/H are and select the base VC that closest match the rom your trying to inject. This will be trial and error to get NES games to work.
Same goes for SNES injects, most will not have any issues, but it's those ROM HACKS/PATCHES/TRANSLATION crowd that might/will have issues since I know there is a few patched roms that are over 4mb in size, these can't be injected.
I don't know what is involved to fix the larger rom inject issue, but every single, so called universal VC inject app/program/scripts, all have the same problem with the above, it would be nice if someone worked out a way.
Then again, just use RetroArch and be done with with.
Also, the one thing that annoys me about your script is that, when it bombs out, there is no error message or logs letting you know what went went wrong???
Is this something you can implement? because this will surely help those doing injects and having issues.
You do know a little app called WiiU USB Helper don't you? No need to inject Wave Race 64 since you can grab the official eShop version yourself. I wont go into the finer details but you can work it out yourself.
Been looking really forward to using this app! I've been going through the steps but have hit a wall (I checked around the thread first too)...
After it goes through the process on it's own for preparing the injection it comes back to ask me which config.ini file I'd like to use (for banjo kazooie - USA, I'm to use the Donkey Kong 64 USA). So after selecting the right one, I get stopped at "Generating metal.xml... >> was unexpected at this time." then leaves me with a directory input "C: \Users\...\Desktoop\Injectiine v1.21\Injectiine v1.21\Tools\CONSOLES\N64\WORKDIR\meta>" that I have no clue what to put in.
If I press enter, it just reappears, would anyone know what I may have missed or could do to eventually reach the NUSPacker? Could it be as simple as uploading the Donkey Kong .ini file and placing it in the meta folder of the N64 WORKDIR folder?
Hmm... So I just have to buy a new R4, then. Phooey...
Thanks for the reply, tho c:
Having tried & tried I've finally got this working.
Successfully injected Bomberman64 as a test.
Problem I have now is I really want to inject Mario Kart 64, but I'm having no joy with Donkey Kong or Excitebike, the compatability list says to use Donkey Kong US/Mario Golf US but neither of those games is an option.
So I've been downloaded those, but I now realise (I think) it wants them to be 'decrpyted' (have I got this right?) but I've tried a few tools (JNUStool etc) & they all say I cant download as there's no FST or key on server?
How/where do I get the other base files from? I have no problem downloading them but I've read loads of threads on JNUSTool & the various versions of it & I'm getting nowhere at all. Just some advice how to get them decrypted would be helpful, everything seems to want an encypted key if I'm reading it right, but I dont know where or how to get that.
Thanks in advance.
If you want amrio Kart 64, just download the official VC version with USB helper
What USB helper also helps with is getting base files for games you want. Download the game you want, then there will be an option to unpack or something like that. That's how to get the base files. That's what I did at least
OMG. I am such an idiot. I looked on usb helper but I hadnt changed the region to US. Doh!
Now got the other games I need & unpacked them in seconds. Wish I'd have asked here before wasting hours! Ah well, off to inject more games!
Thanks for the help!
Glad to be able to help ^^
Error: Common key length is wrong
WOW THERE IS A GAME CALLED AMRIO KART 64? I DIDNT KNOW
Yes, it's a special version Nintendo made where all letters are just slighty mistyped and they also say "Ewlcome ot Amrio Kart", but you've probably never seen it, cause they only made no copies of it
Any chance we could get a repository going like TeconMoon's project for banner images?
That feature's hella convenient vs fetching .pngs yourself.
I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. I tried injecting a NDS game (Okamiden) and when I install it on the Wii U, all i get is a grey question mark and the game can't be launched. I have python installed and I believed i but in the keys correctly. :/
