NO. There can only be one splash screen and it's that beautiful master piece of one....or maybe Rei could just implement a simple and easy way for anyone to modify the splash screen to whatever their liking (hopefully to nothing illegal though).

not sure if memeing with the eta of 5 hours or something got releasedcame back just in time for release
So should I ditch my SX OS and license for this? What advantages does this have?
no you shouldn't.
SX OS is released
This is not.
There you go.
agreed but for now there is no community released CFW so yeah would be different once released.I prefer the comradery and openness of a community release. It has better "evolution" downstream than paid offerings.

It depends on what you want, if you want piracy I **believe** SX OS would be better for this rn with XCI emulation. It having better evolution downstream doesn't matter if we're talking about using it right now btw. What matters is features now. SX OS offers more for piracy, but RNX can do community released sysmodules and some other nice features that are already present in hekate except the NSP installation. In probably 95% of GBATemps usecase if you already have SX OS just use that.I prefer the comradery and openness of a community release. It has better "evolution" downstream than paid offerings.

In the near future, SX OS will be for unbanned users only, really. If you're banned, might as well just install all the NSPs you want, it's more convenient.
Will devmenu be the FBI of switch? And is there a program to convert xci files to nap?
Then how can you say nsp>xci? The CIA was superior than the 3ds format because it was devoid of header information and Nintendo couldn't do anything much if you go online with CIA. I don't see any reason why nsp is better than xci other than dlc. If anybody wants , they can installed Dlc, game updates through nsp while using the xci format for the main gameCurrently, there is no "good" way to use NSP files. (Layered FS is a bit touchy, from what I hear.) As such, there is no real "drive" to make the necessary converters. However, once there is a reliable way to use NSP files, their obvious superiority to XCI files will make a converter almost certain.
RE; SX for unbanned
XCI has benefits for faking a legit title for online play. To do online play, you need an unbanned console. If you dont care about online play, NSP is the superior offering as you keep the slot working as intended, and dont have to muck around with the emulation silliness.

It's just as always a converted Image called splash in the ReiNX folder...or maybe Rei could just implement a simple and easy way for anyone to modify the splash screen to whatever their liking (hopefully to nothing illegal though).
From the sounds of things, ReiNX will be released in the next few days. (even if it takes another week or so,
RE: NAOW, Gamecard emulation
I am of the opinion that converters between XCI and NSP will come into existence pretty soon, once NSP appears on the scene in a reliable way. NSP will already be doing sighacks to do its thing, so not having proper tickets is moot. All you need are the files, and if you know how to package them, you can build an NSP from the raw FS of the XCI. In which case, doing cartridge emulation becomes a bit moot. I would rather have the slot work as intended, and install all the unsigned software as NSPs
Devmenu is the devmenu of Switch :-pWill devmenu be the FBI of switch? And is there a program to convert xci files to nsp?
Sounds backwards to me. Why would you pull apart an xci and repack as an nsp. Seems like a waist of time to me. The xci is ready to go as it is.
Again--
Allows the slot to continue to function as intended. EG-- you can insert (or dump) cartridges, and it will still work as expected. This is not the case when you are redirecting all function calls to the emulated device. Also, there is no kludgey emulation engine doing that redirection working behind the scenes of the title. Finally, the filesystem of the installed title is easier to modify. NSP allows arbitary unsigned code to be installed as a native application (EG, retroarch can be right there on your home menu.)
